Title: Instability of the "Official" Forum
Post by: AssemblY on September 12, 2011, 05:58:30 PM
If the attack of cosbycoins were not enough, now this.

I find it unacceptable that the "official forum" is so unstable, our confidence drops, and confidence in bitcoin of new people, also falls.

We are forced to seek other solutions to share information ... That way we cant rely.

It's easy to make another forum. It's hard to get people to use it.

This is not the official forum.
Officially not official, but it's certainly unofficially official. ;)

Hell, I'd take it as a compliment that the community has taken on bitcointalk.org as the official forum for Bitcoin (like it or not, it is what it is, no matter how much you say it's "not"). Being as there is no "official" forum for Bitcoin, it falls whereever Google returns the most results.

And hence, why there's so much uproar whenever it goes down/gets hacked/has a bad day!

but... but... MagicalTux is hosting it... can't be possible!  ::)

I guess he under-estimated the forum traffic, or it's DDoS protection is fucking up. 1 of those 2.

I haven't had any issues with the forum perhaps it's on your end?

The forum is getting offline to me often today, I tested 2 different internet providers, and the same thing happens.
Others friends have the same problem.

Me too, already saw it offline 2 times today, one of them with a corrupt DB table... underpowered server is my bet ;)
