Title: Need some technical help/advice
Post by: NBWilley on January 28, 2014, 10:01:08 PM
Hey all

New to bitcoin mining. Started out a BTC Guild, but decided to switch to p2Pool. I followed instructions from here http://p2pool.in, but not sure if it's running properly. Experiencing a lot of "dead" area (?) and some increased latency. I'm using an ASUS rig now so I don't have much of a hash rate going on right now, but I plan on getting a mining rig in the near future. Could use some help so I can contribute to the pool more efficiently.

Also don't bother with buy gpu's for bitcoin buy asics.

right now I'm GPU mining.

It will not be profitable (at all) with GPU mining bitcoin now.
It would be better for you to mine some other scrypt-based altcoin with your GPU and then sell it for bitcoin. :)

Agreed.
But with current ASIC competition level you can get better than BFL and in time.
