Title: 20130 ixcoin please send some miners there.
Post by: steelhouse on September 13, 2011, 06:22:27 AM
The next difficulty adjustment will be at block 20130 and I believe we are around 20090 at the moment. It should be reduced to 4K from 16K. After that it'll readjust every 144 blocks for a target readjustment every 24 hours.

You should ask BitcionEXpress. I'm sure he will help out where he can.

I wrote copied this from the ixcoin site off a Nasakioto post.  I think the 20055 was just to set the difficulty algorithm and switch to the new client?  Don't know.  The first retarget is 20130 I think.

So far all I know is that namecoin and solidcoin are on the list. IX an I0 they could care less about I think.

I put my miners on ixcoin tonight.  I pay $.18 per kilowatt hour so I am taking a loss.  Join me on coinotron, I will turn off in morning unless over 1 gh/s at coinotron.

http://allchains.info/

This site says change at 20160. Entire network hash 3.3 gh/s.

At that rate you should reach 20160 in like two months?

Well at the moment the IXcoin exchange has the following notice:
"A threat has been made on the bitcoin forums to rewrite the namecoin blockchain by obtaining more than 51% of the mining power. The same attacker has also threatened the other alternate chains. If they attack the chain and it succeeds it's possible for all your transactions to be lost. It's not possible for an exchange to operate in this environment. I suggest contacting BitcoinEXpress on the bitcoin forums if you have questions as they are coordinating the attack on the network. I'm closing the ixcoin deposits and withdrawals temporarily until the situation becomes clearer. The exchange is running a checkpointed ixcoin which should hopefully at least keep the existing coins and block chain intact during an attack.

Keep an eye on this part of the exchange for future updates about the situation. Hopefully the network can ward off any attack."

But the i0 coin exchange doesn't.

Would have been a nice idea if any of these currencies was actually a nice little hedge against inflation but sadly its not to be.

Well at the moment the IXcoin exchange has the following notice:
Sadly it was a necessary step to protect the exchange against the threat until ixcoin/i0coin provides steps to defend against it.

IXcoin and I0coin are under no threat LOL

Can't be too sure. But then again can't be too sure about anything anymore.

Why because you say so? The exploit you found for SLC can be preformed on all the other crypto-currencys... You trying to court people to one specific currency just because it's "safe" in your eyes is pathetic. It's funny seeing you in these forums running with a huge power trip all because you "can" do something.

I have to agree here. You don't have to continually tout anything. Just go about your business.

You better enable withdraw soon.

Stop trading is one thing, disabling withdraw because you feel it might be unsafe is deciding for us what is the safest.
If I want to withdraw my coins (and maybe loose them), it's still my decision to make, not yours.

Shutting down the exchange is actually more dangerous; people stop mining the coin because there's no profit and it will be more vulnerable to attacks of any kind.

I'll be enabling a way for people to withdraw their funds soon. I won't be enabling deposit until chain authors fix the existing issues and/or BitcoinEXpress withdraws the threat.

what a stupid douche, well I guess he doesnt think their are other stupid douches either. Doesnt think anyone else saw what was going on at geist geld. Doesnt think anyone will see the crap bitcoin express is doing on these forums and getting away with it, and wont try to copy it.

How about we make up our own minds what is under threat and not take a stupid douches word for it.

I wouldnt enable them until they were fixed. Bitcoinexpress has been operating with impunity here on these forums. The attack isnt complex and it is well known. For you to say you would put them up is like saying "my site has a ton of sql injection vulnerabilities and the entire planet knows it, but this one stupid douche hacker has promised not to attack, so no one else will"

Yeah I might push them across the retarget block, I like Ixcoin, I personally made over 600 BTC off Ixcoin. Posted about it while it was happening. Hit it with 28 GH/s at diff 4 and didn't stop till diff 16384. I was on the forum just as Thomas posted about it. At one point I was generating 6 blocks per minute. Sold as fast I could get them to DoubleC's exchange.

No I like Ixcoin and I0coin is so pathetic it's not worth killing!

The good ol days!  And I thought I did pretty well when I made a little over 62 BTC through mining IxCoins :)
