Title: Does it hurt a pool or my mining if I stop my mining for any reason? Post by: ccualumni on January 29, 2014, 03:17:01 AM I am using Multiminer as it is easy to use and seems to give me all of the details I want.
My question is about stopping the mining process for whatever reason. I bought an antminer and had to stop my software so that I could put it in the computer and get it running. I know that I am not mining when my computer is turned off or not actively mining, but do I lose out when my mining stops? In other words, if I have Shares accepted and stop my miner for any reason, do I lose all of the shares I was working on? No. But, different pools may have a different reward systems. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104664.msg1146110#msg1146110 Say, for PPS, when you submit your shares, the pool will credit you directly. And for PPLNS, the pool will distribute the block rewards among the last N shares. So, even if you have submitted shares, you may not be paid for those shares or you could be paid double or triple or more.
