With so many masternode coins out there, which ones do you think are the best to invest in long-term?

Dash is always the best. It has very small ROI but its the most established and stable MN coin out there. But it cost lot to own a masternode. If you want cheaper option with slightly higher rewards, Zcoin is also a solid alternative.

Be careful with masternode coins in general, but especially when they promise huge ROI. Many masternode coins try to attract new investors by promising insane returns, but soon enough they find themselves on a downward spiral. So even though you migh see some ROI initially, that period might be followed by a huge depreciation of value. Dash is probably the most stable masternode coin, but the requirement is to have a minimum of 1000 coins for a MN.

I like the idea behind masternodes. PoS block solving with no power wastage is superior in every regard to hardware mining. The problem is there are too many weak MN projects on the market, and it's easy to get burned. On the other hand, buying into established projects like Dash etc. is out of reach for most people because they are just too expensive.

Dash is the best masternode coin I know. But it requires 1000 Dash for a Masternode. This is really hard to do. Dash price is not cheap, Dash price is always higher than ETH very much. The long-term investment in Dash is completely based on the potential of its still huge.

MATRIX is designed to have 21 delegate nodes, which are the agents for transaction processing. Different from the EOS’ supernodes, the delegate nodes of MATRIX are randomly selected in every given period. Such a design is to maintain decentralization and fairness in the sense that the probability of a node staying as a delegate for many times is sufficiently low. A node has to make a given amount of deposit before it can attend the selection process. The period for a selection is chosen as around 10 minutes.

For me the best mastermode coins to invest in is bitcoin because the company of bitcoin is offered a high income that you are looking for, so be practical to your reason why bitcoin.

we are talking about pos masternodes,right? I have 2 nodes of 3dcoin, it is the districts.io project coin. They have pritty decent roadmap till 2021. Right now we are waiting for the exchanges and get profits from nodes.

There is many master nodes coins but NYX then Inn then XAP ,CIV etc are the top leading master nodes coins in the market but I will suggest invest money in btc which have more profit and more benefits because after few days later the price of btc will increase and it’s high time to invest money.

consider the top 20 coins and invest in them, these are those coins that have proven themselves, and people believe them and the team, and when the big market begins and everything starts to grow, the first coins will start these growths...

Dumb question: what are masternode coins?

I thought it was some name of a coin for a certain bounty, not knowing there are more? It seems to me that i need to research more.
 

As far as i know masternode is a risk project for investment. Many investors are lose their money for invest in this project but i hard dash is little bit good coin because it has short ROI.

it seems like I think for altcoin like that I do not understand it because I rarely and hardly ever hold the coin using the special wallet. and this I do not think it is feasible for the beginner if you jump in that thing .., it is very safe but, if the beginner I feel less understood to invest on it.

Pivx, dash, reddcoin, Bitsend. they are all very good to be your longterm investment choice. But it needs a big requirement to become the masternode. It may better for you to look at the staking coin because it needs less than masternode coin but with a better annual return.

The concept of masternode is good but it is difficult to choose a good masternode. I like Dasg the most as I didn't heard any bad review about it. There are many nodes who will try to allure you with impossible offers. Don't fall in such traps.

The safest masternode investment is DASH, but you should also get some low cap masternode coins like SMART, Masternodecoin or Innova.

Dash and pivx both are the best masternode coin at this time. But if you are looking for a good masternode coin and then you should prepare for big requirements to become the masternode.

Masternode is a full node of a cryptocurrency and it keeps a full copy of the blockchain, just like a wallet. But it's different because it performs other important functions like helping perform private and instant transactions, enbling governance, voting, treasury and stuff like that. It takes a certain amount of coins to be locked in the wallet to set up a masternode and it generates rewards (much like staking). Currencies that have such functionalities are called masternode coins.

It depends on how much money you have. If money is ok, choose dash or zcoin. Then you can search for new coins.

I do not think anyone would argue that Dash is one of the best (if not the best) masternode coin out there. You may also want to check out Syscoin who recently announced their masternode. I think it's one of those projects that will really last.

Right now $MAG (Magnet) has a relatively cheap masternode (~$500 I guess). Fundamentally it's a solid coin and kinda bottomed now from TA point of view. (DYOR)

If you are planning on investing on masternode coins, be very cautious. The most popular master node to invest on is Dash. It is very popular and it provides a lot of facilities to its clients.

Dash is the most stabil coin with MasterNode. Another coins are too risky.

There was one which conducted an ico a few days ago, it was called Omnitude, it ended a few days ago if i am not wrong, each masternode was worth about $8000, and it was profitable

What about NEO? I heard it wasn't that expensive to own a masternode for it. I'm still starting to look into this, so it would help a lot if the OP would create a list in the opening post with the coins and the potencial ROI% for each, such as the costs to own the masternode.
Finally is it really needed to own the masternode? Using NEO as an example again, I read that you can earn more GAS if you own the masternode, but that you can get those rewards even without owning a masternode.

Keeping NEO in your wallet can get you to earn GAS no sweat. You can even keep your NEO on binance and still receive GAS on that exchange. I don't know about owning a NEO masternode however.


How much do you guys need when setting up a masternode for dash? I does need server I know but how much dashcoin do you have to own?

Maternode coins are a good way to earn passive income. But most of them are ponzi scams. It is so hard to find a masternode with real life use case. I am really lucky to find FGC.

You might want to do your own research about DIGIWAGE, and MAG. They give decent rewards thru both staking and master node and has a projected implementation in real world. The impact that these coins in the digital age will truly be revolutionary for crypto currencies.

I'm not sure which one right now but when Tezos launches, it can probably be one of the best.

Bitsend can come handy here! It have proven to be relatively stable and given the latest across board bearish tone of the market, 1 BSD is presently just above 5k satoshi and that makes now a much ideal time for buying the 25k Bitsend requirement for setting up a masternode, that's about 1.25 BTC

Ambrosus is by far the best masternode coin and probably the most undervalued project in crypto. If you are very wealthy, I think DASH would be your best bet. Like many others have said, DASH is the most established. I think that other coins are are good as well but be advised that high ROI coins are dangerous. Maybe stick around something around 5-10%. If you find a higher ROI coin, make sure you do research to see if they have something in place to have the ROI decrease over time so the coin doesn't get hyper inflated.

For the issue of node currency, I feel that there is a project that is specialized only for nodes, and that their own projects use their own tokens as node rewards, and this trend in the future will become more and more apparent in the future.

I 100% agree.  I have quite a few different holdings and this is one of my favorites.  The team is great, the product is working, and its massively undervalued.  MN and proof of stake is the future!

Well, right now i keep an eye out for Sonm and Aurora Idex masternodes.

I've gotten crushed in some masternode coins, all those crazy high ROI's sound amazing, and watching rewards flow into your wallet feels good, but nothing can survive that type of inflation.  I've learned to look for coins with a much smaller inflation % as one of many factors to consider. 

The best masternode coin out there right now would have to be lindacoin. I mean the coin is still starting out and is still very cheap but there are a lot of things in store for a coin like that. Also it is a privacy coin and with so many people looking to make their transactions more anonymous coins like this are destined to do very well
