Q: I saw your LTC Mining Rig but im just wondering about two things. The first would be regarding the case used to house the mining rig, as i am slightly worried about overheating. Additionally, How many r9 290's are used in this rig?
A: This build will have 4 r9 290 and will be a open case build with custom gpu frame. The frame will be custom built.

Q: Have difficulty connecting to and mining ltc and ftc. Is this a ready to use model? How long does it take to build and can you estimate roi time as I have free electricity!
A: You should consider the ROI and do research on it as much as possible. The build will begin once all items have been delivered, it will take 7-11 working days to complete along with configuration + Testing. Everything will be set up for you, all you need to do is power up and start.

Q: case type?
A: The case will be a customised frame, it will be custom built to facilitate 4 graphics card and have enough space between the gpu,

Q: psu rating?
A: Four GPU = 1500 watt Power Supply

Q:Windows 7 Pro or Windows 7? I require Pro but you always keep mention 7 so not sure if you can or can't provide Pro.
A: I can provide Windows 7 Professional

Q: using powered riser cards?
A: Riser cards required if using a GPU chassis frame, regardless, having 4 GPU at full power will need riser card to prevent any heat problems and also space issues etc.

Q:any extra rig fan in addition to the R920 built-in fans to help with cooling or is extra rig fan not needed??
A: Extra fans is provided if you require a CASE build, a frame rig will not require that many fans, however we will install fans at an additional cost.

Q: will all components be still under manufacturers warranty?
A: All hardware will have manufacture warranty.

Q: will all s/w be provided for running miner and pre-installed on rig. I just want to plug it in and GO.
A: Yes, everything will be pre-installed, all you need to do is start up and GO.

Anything we mine will be left on your test worker account. We will not keep any coins through testing phase

£130 is too much for a frame. Other members like spotswood and suave on litecointalk.org are selling higher quality cases for £70!

that is the thing. I do not find it proftable for me to sell frames on its own. I would like to sell for £70 but its just not a good profit margin for me to spend time on.

Could you do a budget version with 1xGpu?

2.5G is a lot to drop on miner for most people.

Be nice to be able to start small and add extra Gpus as and when you could afford it.

what a waste of $. you can get close to 800khs from 280x card which costs 2X less and build this setup yourself for about 2X less then this guy is charging.

To be exact you can build a 3mhs system yourself for right around 1050-1100 quid, using 280X cards and dual psu setup ,and it would cost about 5-10quid in timber from local diy to build that frame yourself.

Ive built 13+ so far and have 3 that i have been running continuous for months. Not one issue nor any complaints.

I have used 280x, and for my newer rigs i have built with 280x and got about 3mhs eprox.

I don't use wood, i use metal. Better to work with and much safer.

lets look at a 3.5 mhs 290 build.

4 x r9 290 = £367.99 (£1471.91) (aria stocked)
1 x Motherboard = £100
1 x psu = £398
2x2gb ram = £40-£50
1x ssd = £50
4x usb pci risers = £25 (£100)

that is about £2169.91 (hardware). Sure, you can go for cheaper hardware, but i rather not.  I have not had any problems with any of my builds.

i wouldn't say anything if you were charging a 20-30% extra for putting things together, but you charge double for a task where you dont need much brain to put everything together!

Question for OP, do you provide reference to your previous clients? And how many did you sell?

xfx 290s are great, not once had any issue with them.  
honestly mate, leave my thread. the 290 you show is no were near to the gpu i am using, and price does vary for a reason.  usb risers £10? yeah if you get it straight from china, i buy from resellers.  You can go ahead and use 2 psu, if you think that is more efficient then you are wrong. I rather stick with one per rig.

its cheaper to rent hashingpower from places like betarigs/leaserig then buy your overpriced setups where you cant make your money back or only in very very long time.

Of course you can make your money back.

Sometimes even mining different coins at the right times can give you good returns. I garantee you one thing as well... When these asics hit the market, im sure one company will come out with one in a month time, these will make the rigs far cheaper to buy... but i bet you there will be new algorithms to make gpu mining live longer!

GPU's slowly creeping up again... for many reasons especially future developments of specific coins.

Every time I calculate how many coins I can mine on a GPU it doesn't add up and I won't get my roi. So how is it people are still building these ?

GPU mining is still profitable... infact it is back with a punch due to various reasons.

There are literally 4-5 uses for GPU rigs... mining is one of them. From my calculation a Rig with 5 X 380X will earn you around £350 a month (subtracting electricity) for a certain coin and if you are clever enough and skillful in trading, that £350 can triple.


I have a 10 page document i made for the use of gpu rigs and mining.  If anyone is interested in this, you can contact me via PM.

Anyway, since my last post, i have built 3 rigs and made a total of £1450 (eprox) which more or less just got my investment back and then sold those coins to make in total £2500 (eprox) which more or less paid for 2 of my rigs (literally 1 month!) . I do not sell my mined coins as i have good knowledge on the market so i sell them when i see a good opportunity.  

If anyone is still interested in GPU mining, I will build it for you , guide you through it and provide you my 10 page guide to maximize your profits!

I highly recommend meeting up face to face to discuss.  

I was literally the 2nd person to offer such a service in the UK years back when litecoin was alive and well so i have a lot of knowledge in this area.
