You can try
Code:
aticonfig --od-gettemperature

this gives cores temps. but I need VDDC temps. it's possible to see it from Windows GPU-Z, so it should be available, question - how to get access to it from linux.

What card do you have? My XFX 5870 only shows VDDC Voltage and VDDC OCP % in GPU-Z.

I think, it's Radeon 5970 (http://superuser.com/questions/256549/linux-ati-5970-vddc-temperature-reading)
