Florida based Mediaspree LLC has released CoinScout 1.0 for iOS, a simple tool to help locate local shops and restaurants that accept bitcoin as payment. CoinScout seeks to to focus on traditional "Brick and Mortar" venues that accept bitcoin. The app uses a virtual compass interface that fixates on the nearest bitcoin friendly venue to guide users as they explore the neighborhood around them. A quick spin of the compass will reveal other merchants who accept bitcoin nearby. I dont think you can use your iphone to pay in BTC as apple does not support bitcoin wallets. You would probably need to have a paper bitcoin wallet in hand I guess to pay the bill or you would be stuck washing dishes. This would take off if apple allowed btc in the payment apps of iphone ipad though...
