Hello everyone, Whats the difference between Bitcoin Address and ERC-20 Wallet address ?

Bitcoin address is an address with which you hold your bitcoins and it is native to a bitcoin blockchain. Ethereum, on the other hand, has it's own blockchain and set of rules and hence it's own address. But it is not only for Ethereum, it is also for ERC20 compliant tokens which make a majority of cryptos out there. While on bitcoin blockchain you can only store bitcoins.

Its very simple Bitcoin address is for bitcoin. You can not store and hold altcoins here. ERC-20 wallet is for ethereum and other ERC-20 based cryptocurrencies. As ethereum's blockchain differs from Bitcoin it need to be stored in its own address.

Bitcoin wallet is solely for bitcoin and no other coin and ERC wallet is usually for altcoins and especially for new or ico coins. Erc has capacity to accommodate variety of coins, what usually happens is that you imput the contract address, decimal and token name in the space provided for it to see the coin on the erc.

In layman terms, Bitcoin and ERC20 tokens are built in different blockchains. Hence the addresses are different since it is the result of a mathematical operation. You can’t send Bitcoin to ERC20 address.

Bitcoin addresses begin with a 1 or 3 depending if you use SegWit yet or not. And Ethereum addresses begin with a standard 0x. The difference is that they function on a completely different blockchain, in which right now Ethereum is much more capable and faster.

  On the wallet you can only keep bitcoin and coins compatible with it, and you will never be able to send other coins there. And on the wallet of ERC-20 you will be able to store all the altcoins that work on this platform.

To hold the bitcoin, investors need to have bitcoin address and it is local to a bitcoin blockchain. At the same, Etherium has its own set of blockchain technology and address to hold Etherium. Moreover Etherium is not coin but a token. In the Etherium platform you can hold all ERC 20 token not only Etherium nut in the bitcoin address you can just hold bitcoin.

The difference is that you can send only BTC on bitcoin address, as for ERC-20 wallet,you can send and receive not only ETH, but also erc-20 tokens.
 Personally I don't use bitcoin, ETh for me is far convenient

Bitcoin has its own blockchain and hence its own wallet and the unique address, similarly, ERC-20 tokens are the tokens based on Ethereum network and eth has its own blockchain with unique wallet addresses, i hope you will have understood the difference now.

Bitcoin address is used for holding bitcoin and in the other hand erc-20 is used in etherum as they dont have their own blockchain.It used ethereum's blockchain.

The difference is they both addresses from different blockchains, bitcoin address is of course used to receive bitcoins and it only works with bitcoin blockchain. While erc20 address or ethereum address is used for receiving ethereum based tokens or ether, the coin used in ethereum platform. And there is no connection between both because they are from two different coin.

The difference between the two is based on the difference in their blockchain. Bitcoin address is used to store bitcoin alone and no other coin can be store in it while the ERC-20 wallet is used to store ethereum token and other related ERC-20 coin.

ERC-20 wallet can store all ERC-20 compatible tokens but bitcoin wallet can store only bitcoin.   

ERC20 wallet address can be considered as ethereum wallet too that build on the different algo, you can't store your bitcoin on the erc20 wallet address and other wise you can't store your erc20 token on the bitcoin wallet address. that has been building on the different platform.
