Title: Beware of airdrop scam
Post by: ConspiRatorX on June 02, 2018, 03:07:31 AM
It goes like this, I joined an airdrop and it sent me an email said that they want to verify my identity, at the end of the verification, it said i need to sign a message by my private key. It's a fake MEW address, and the domain name is extremely similar.
I'm writing for those who are enthusiastic for airdrops, never give your private key to others.

At this moment most airdrop campaigns are scam and fake. Because they are going to steal your identity and private keys. Then don't give your identity for airdrops and don't give your private keys to anywhere. Keep safe your private keys.

Some scammers sending an airdrop tokens claim email to your email address. That scammer added a fake website same as myetherwallet. It asks to enter the private key that website to claim their tokens. When will you enter the private key to that site, your coins will be lost.

It is better to share the scam airdrop to as many as possible people, there are some benefits:
1. More people will verify the airdrops to increasing the certainty of the scam
2. More people will be aware for such airdrop then more people will be saved
3. This is a kind to fight scam effort by the community, to limit the fraudulent movement

Just to share the name of Scam Airdrops and including bounties if there is any, also some address to be used to steal by hacking.

It is a primary thing not to send private key to anyone and anywhere. Only foolish people can share their private key.

yes it is very important to keep your private key in such a way, because asking for a private key is often done by scammers
if someone asks for your private key, surely it is a scammer
