Title: BLOCK! shares?
Post by: CrayjeksAjek on January 30, 2014, 07:56:48 PM
So this happens when I mine Smartcoin Ill get the usual accepted shares but fairly often Ill get something like "Accepted 03fr5671 Diff 1.2k/64 BLOCK! GPU 1"

Does anyone know why these shares are being blocked? Are they being blocked?

Im using 2 Radeon HD6850's at about 200-250kh/s each. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh. My. God. Is that what mining has been reduced to?

Yes, Im afraid mining has been reduced to noobs asking questions when search results involving "block" or "share" become skewed with a million results.

Thanks mrmork666 for the simple response.

Apologies; I think I came off more snarky that I was intending. I'm not saying I knew everything when I first started mining, but I think it's funny that someone would mine without knowing what a block is.

Ah my apologies too, its difficult to discern emotions and tone through text. Also, lol  :D I know what a block is and did a couple years research before actually starting to mine. When I mine BTC, LTC, UNOB and other coins, cgminer has never said "BLOCK!" at the end; it would simply show shares and if a block were found, "Found Block for pool 0" would show up below the accepted shares, thus causing some confusion on what exactly was happening when I would get "Accepted 03fr5671 Diff 1.2k/64 BLOCK! GPU 1" instead.
