Title: WARNING!!! An email spreading out trying to steal coins from our MyEtherWallet!
Post by: emig on June 04, 2018, 04:42:58 AM
Just an hour ago, I have received an email stating that due to GDPR compliant issue, MyEtherWallet.com advises its users to changed their wallet address.  Though I firmly believe this is subtle move to steal the coins from my account because the sender has this address: noreply@myeterwallet.ga, I still wanna inform others on this matter.  It might be the next this thief might use another above level strategy.  So here is the content of the email:

"We're writing to let you know that MyEtherWallet is updating its Privacy Policy as of June 4, 2018. Also, we're updating our blockchain system to reflect changes in data privacy laws, specifically the General Data Protection Regulation in the European Union.

Because of this. your personal Ether Address will be changed on June 4.

So to make sure you will not lose all your coins. please transfer your coins to your fresh new personal Ether Address below. which was generated automatically.

After June 4, you should use your new Ether Address Your private key will be the same. All transactions fees will be refunded to you after updating. We never ask your private key and passwords.

                                              TRANSFER FUNDS NOW
"

And that's it.  Please be warned!!!!

Yes, the text is, of course, primitive and does not stand up to criticism. If someone is at least a little familiar with the work of the MyEtherWallet wallet, it becomes obvious that this letter was fake. It proposes to move all tokens of all wallets into a single purse, to which only its address is provided.

Many thanks for the warning.

For me, it is always surprising to find out what ideas the impostor come up with.
Unfortunately there will be a few people who consider this mail to be real.
Thanks for your warning.

I also often receive letters to the mail with a link to the fake MyEtherWallet website. Recently I received a letter inviting me to take part in Airdrop of a well-known project in which I used to take part and on whose group Telegram was signed. Scammers constantly come up with new ways to steal a private key from your wallet.

Thanks for this information. Scammers now go to every extents to do their duping. They even make their scams look legitimate to rob you of your hard earned cash. I fear for newbies in the cryptocurrency trading. I am sure those newbies are their targets.

Better such letters do not open and do not read, because you will steal your money, I had a case in the beginning with the acquaintance with the crypt, I then stole 3 ether at the time when it cost $ 300 one, all because of the fact that the mail came a letter I also opened it,went to the link

Recently I received exactly the same letter. Similar letters are received by many who participated in bounty campaigns, in ICO projects, in airdrops and those associated with cryptocurrencies. Scammers get databases and a list of e-mails from those who conducted an example of airdrop only to collect personal data of people who are keen on cryptocurrencies. So be careful when giving your data in suspicious projects.

Thank you for the information. Indeed, the one who wrote this letter was a rather illiterate person. I doubt that there is someone who will believe this letter.
