Post by: BTC Turkiye on January 31, 2014, 01:28:28 PM
If you got multiple Public Address in your BTC Wallet, which address shows (as a sender) when you send BTC to another wallet?

The address that your wallet software picks to send the funds from.

So you never know? It just picks randomly?

If you're using Blockchain.info, it gives you the option to either let the program pick, or you can pick. There is a little drop down box with all the addresses, and the amount of coins in each one on the send coins page. It's right on top, I believe.

Well no. Not all addresses have coins in them so it picks from the ones that do. Also it tries to minimize small amounts of change and it favours older coins over newer ones.

If you want greater control over which address is used you can get that. With bitcoin-qt you need a special version called coin control. Electrum has coin control built in. Don't know about the other wallets.
