How do you think this would stand up to mining full blast wrt temps?

Anyone tried running this card in a closed case? opened case?

What's your experience with temps?

I have a fanless 5770 the "Silent Cell" variety. Use it in my Desktop. Cooling is provided by the case fan.
Clocks around 950 mhz stable.

I thought of getting one of these, but if you can find a the 5770 or 6770 (they look the same) well they are cheaper and give almost the same hashrate along with better mhash/j.

what's the temp like at max sustained hashing rate?

The highest I've got was 73°C with about 30 room temp (large south faced window).
Right now it's at 71 along with pwm powered down case fan  8)

Hashrate lies between 210-220.

not bad at all!

maybe someone who has this 6850 from first post can share they experience too...

For $200, I personally would not even consider this card. It might cool pretty well with good airflow across the heat sink. Also, it looks pretty wide, so good luck trying to fit this with other cards in a case.

I'm not a novice and didn't ask for a lecture on price, size etc...  I posted a specific question regarding temps when mining full blast.

Passive *should* technically cool fine by convection alone!
It might mine just above ambient if you throw a 120mm on it!

I am sure it cools fine with gaming, desktop use etc. But I doubt it be able to mine at 100% gpu usage and not need additional cooling. At least thats if you dont mind running you card into the ground at 90-100 degrees

I get uncomfortable if any of my cards get much above 70 and I like to keep them in the 60s

You can mine at higher clocks than you can game at! At least I can! So, I'd have to believe this is <= gaming!
Also, gaming should be 99% GPU usage too! So, should produce the same temps at the same voltage!

Toms hardware did a review of that exact card in early august
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fanless-graphics-card-scs3-hd6850,2990.html
in an open air enviroment with a boxfan pointed at the rig i'm sure it'd do quite well but they had to add a fan for gaming(causing it to run cooler than any 6850) otherwise it was a toaster!(running hotter than any card in the comparison
