Cryptocurrency has been a hot topic among investors recently, especially when those ups and downs of Bitcoin value has brought a huge profit for traders.  Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, states that the digital currency market is more likely to decrease as bitcoin prices decline and vice versa. However, as CNBC reports, he also said that the situation could end soon as markets start to acknowledge the differences between these assets and behaving independently of each cryptocurrency.

Ripple has developed a blockchain network for faster global financial payments. The company has signed more than 20 production contracts with banks around the world, including Kuwait Finance House and MoneyGram.

However, the prospect of XRP is not so bright as this cryptocurrency has lost more than 70% of its value from the beginning of the year till now and was the worst performer among the top digital currencies.

According to CoinMarketCap, the Crypto market began to decline from late last year and has lost more than 50% of its market cap. There are more than 1.600 cryptocurrencies in circulation, more than 133 of them have the market capitalization of over $100 million.

Garlinghouse predicted that more than 99 percent of this digital assets will disappear in the next 10 years. New launched cryptocurrencies will be washed out from the market soon if they don't actually solve a real problem.

I do not know when it will disappear but the next 10 years is impossible, it is too short

This is research and prediction. The exact percentage may be higher. However, we have not been 100% sure yet.

Why does it disappear? I think cryptocurrency will stabilize in the future.
Crypto-currencies will be widely used in the future, and the furture and paper money will disappear.

I think that a lot of cryptocurrencies might vanish or their prices will decrease substantially but the main cryptos as Ethereum, Bitcoin, XRP will stay there for long time and be excepted by the states as official payments methods. I think that this situation is inevitable!

Cryptos are here to stay, and blockchain tech will be used in every work aspect of life, resolving real issues. But like you said the useless projects and scams will definitely disappear from the market.

I think 10 years is very short time for anything to happen. The concept of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is still under development. Students are doing thesis on it and many industries are making plan with cryptocurrency. So the possibility of disappearance of cryptocurrencies in about ten years is very little.

cryptocurrencies will not vanish from the market in about 10 years because crypto is improving daily and it's already changed a lot of peoples life. I believe crypto will be more stable in about 10 years so let's see.

the market will definitely change in the future because things can not go on like this and all these newbies who are currently losing money to pump and dumps shitcoins will soon realize how the market works and either stay away or pull out their money from shitcoins and invest it in real projects.

i expect that in a couple of years (maybe less than 5) we see a big purge happen in altcoin market where majority of shitcoins such as XRP which happens to also be centralized will be kicked out of existence and the way will be opened for real projects to flourish which aren't scams.

There is a lot of speculation from the conventional investors that cryptocurrency will not last in the market for long because it is not prepared for the economies of scale but the fact is that this digitized finance is just a new concept which the economy of the world is scared of adapting

10 Years??? that too soon . First the FIAT will disappear and the crptocurrencies will take the place. The internet will be on blockchain and then it will be created another payment solution and that will make cryptocurrencies to disappear.  in 10 years will be mass adopted but 99% of the tokens will die only the ones with real use will survive.

When you look at this post after 10 years, you may be unbelievable about the sentence you said that year. Why do I say this, it is as ridiculous as you predicted whether the Internet would disappear 10 years ago.

Cryptocurrencies are just starting to emerge in the crypto market and within the 10 year period I would say that it will still be existing. In that time, definitely cryptocurrency will be more widely adopted by the people and in my assumption, there may be existing altcoins that may no longer survive due to stiff competition and only the best will survive further in the crypto market.

the post actually states that cryptos will disappear if they don't provide a real solution to a real problem....so currently the majority of the currencies. this is a very likely scenario, where the market will be dominated by a very small number of currencies that have a real application

I think it is unlikely that the cryptocurrency will disappear in the next 10 years, however, it is possible that bitcoin and Ethereum will disappear or fall and something else will come to replace them

Definitely there will be a big change in the cryptocurrency world in the next 10 years as new technology develop almost everyday but it will not vanish because its like telling that technology would also disappear after 10 years so definitely it will not happen.

No I conpletely disagree brother. The only way that would happen is when there is something that is much more revolutionary than cryptocurrency. And how can you say that when cryptocurrency is only just starting and hasn't been stable yet?

Of course, a lot of crypto-currencies will disappear in the near future as they will not be able to gain a foothold in the market. But this does not mean that the cryptocurrency will die completely. On the contrary, in 10 years we will see its dawn and soon, thanks to decentralization, many enterprises will be able to reach a new level

I don't think the cryptocurrency will disappear, but many of the current altcoins will disappear within 2 years. This is my point of view. But the price of bitcoin will be higher and higher.

I do think that these currencies may loose themselves in the faster world like this. I guess it wont be long enough when crypto currencies will become old technology and might just disappear or at least people will loose interest in them if they dont provide proper services and products for investors to use. I think it is not even up close to have real world applications yet and thus already becoming old in some ways. Just imagine, its been 9 years now and still we are struggling to get the lightening fast networks. No instant payments, transfers etc etc. So may be these are the reasons that could lead to such stuff.

No, I don't think cryptocurrencies will vanished in 10 year period of existence instead it will flourish more and perhaps these cryptocurrencies may be adopted worldwide. In 10 year period, btc will still be the leading cryptocurrency in the world and most likely it has a very high market value than in the current market price.

I do not think that the cryptocurrency will disappear. My opinion is that the cryptocurrency lacks stability. Very strong correction occurs. The market can both strongly fall, and show strong growth in a very short period of time. As soon as the cryptocurrency market ceases so to fever, people will begin to trust the crypto more. Then at cryptocurrency there will be a chance to become really a payment means.

I think electronic money is a measure of progress in society. Therefore, in the continuous cryptography market there are purges to remove the weak currency to choose the coin can meet the needs of society. On the other hand, governments have also seen the potential and future of electronic money. Many governments have adopted policies to promote  electronic money. I don't think so. With an overwhelming market support in terms of capitalization, it is even hard to imagine that cryptocurrencies will seize to exist even in the next 50 years. So any speculation of cryptocurrencies vanishing anytime soon will remain a speculation.

I do not think that crypocurrencies would be vanishing from the finance market in a few years to come. About ten years ago, only a few persons believed in the growth and development that the industry is experiencing now. I think that there would be an increase in this growth in the next ten years to come, and even more.

For all, it is obvious that altcoins that haven't justified their purpose or are unclaimed by users will disappear from the market. I wouldn’t talk about a term of 10 years. 10 years is a very long time for such a volatile market as the crypto market. Nobody knows what will happen in a year, and in 10 years in general, darkness.
