Post by: butka on June 09, 2018, 08:31:57 AM If I were a developer, after this announcement, I would rush to backup my GitHub repositories. Also, there are decent Github alternatives (Bitbucket) for hosting your source code. I have no idea what Microsoft's intentions are, but there is already some skepticism among the developers. We will have to wait and see what exactly Microsoft is planning to do before we can judge whether this is a good or bad thing.

Post by: Msile on June 09, 2018, 08:37:50 AM I cant even think of how you are connecting the buying of GitHub by Microsoft to them trying to enter the crypto markets. GitHub isn't a crypto company that Microsoft will have to purchase it to enter the crypto world. If they had bought coins of a specific crypto currency or invested in an exchange than you could have said that they are looking to enter the world of crypto.

Post by: salinaangel on June 09, 2018, 02:36:15 PM I don’t think that it could be the way of entering into the crypto market by Microsoft. Since Mr. Bill is against the crypto industry, he will not be willing to engage here with a big investment. I think Github could be developed more to set a new platform by the open source devs thorough Microsoft.
