Why not, crypto bookies offer decent odds. And the possibility to be able to bet from everywhere. Also this is world cup a lot of countries have blocked gambling but with crypto this isn't problem. A lot of kinds would make their bets with crypto too I am pretty sure

there are already many gambling houses adopting a bitcoin payment system, and I think it's viral because an anonymous recent becomes something the gamblers like.
some speculate that the price of crypto will be boosted during the World Cup. but I do not think this will happen.

I agree with your point. At max it might increase revenue of the betting industry but I do not see crypto industry getting any kind of benefit from it. It is not that new investors would prefer to bet via cryptos instead of fiat.
I am seeing a lot of posts around the forum regarding the same. Maybe it might create a FUD and people might actually end up investing more during this phase in order to reap benefits later on as the world cup progresses.

In the last 5 or 8 days cryptocurrency market looks in steady bearish, not sure it could have a big effect due the World Cup event that possibly makes a lot of people interested to use crypto to place their betting but one thing I can highlight that in the first day of World Cup ... Bitcoin value itself has gained around $400! Isn't it a good sign? Gambling industry actually always has a big impact into cryptocurrency market , I just feel a little bit doubt right now.

Why not? It's just fun to see that there are possibilities to earn while you predict matches. If you have fun watching the games and be excited about it, it's totally not the worst thing. What you are saying is somewhat not okay to people who gamble, if they can do it, why not? If you do make sure that you won't lose money, then it's settled, you can have the chance to but it's still up to you.

We believe it wouldn't affect it that much. Yes, it's one of the biggest sporting events in the world and all, but still, if you compare it to other periods where all the major leagues (Premier League,Primera Division,Bundesliga etc. etc.) are playing, the bets worldwide would still be a lot more than there are right now. If you compare it, 1 week of world cup has around 14-15 games. On a casual Saturday there are hundreds of high profile matches alone so don't expect any significant price pop or mass adoption because of the world cup.
