Title: Don't use Bittrex
Post by: josebcn on June 07, 2018, 07:00:12 PM
I made a deposit of aprox 10K USD in crypto and because of their technical problems the deposit didn't get credited as usual.

Now they tell me that they have to manually check it and that it could take a month or more and this if it finally gets credited, maybe I "lose" my coins, they don't assure me that it will be credited even having blockchain tx id proof.WTF

This is unacceptable, avoid this exchange at all costs.

It's actually quite surprising that they specifically state a date, where usually they only point out that they are looking into your matter and try to solve it as soon as possible.

And no, you will definitely not lose your coins. The only thing that might end up working against you, is when they ask for documents and bills while your account is basic verified with fake information.

If that's not an issue, then you will not face any problems. At this point there is nothing that you can do other than granting them the time they need to credit you the coins you initially deposited.

One month to just check one transaction? or it is like bunch of deposits you have for one particular coin?
I suspect you have deposited coin whose blockchain was under maintainance or other problem at the time of deposit. If not than one month ETA they have given to just manually check a deposit is insane.

Can you post which coin you have deposited there?

Just one deposit of Bittube (Tube).

They say one month or maybe more(or never).

You're talking about this coin(https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-TUBE), right?

Are you sure that you were not required to include any TXID that you were supposed to include within your transaction, that you forgot to? Otherwise, what was the reason for them to delay your deposits by so long? Did they state any reasons, or just said that they needed to "manually check" the transaction?

I mean, if they didn't have any particular reasons for holding up your deposit, I would definitely find this to be untrustworthy. But I feel like there is probably some underlying cause of this.

Either way, I wouldn't use Bittrex after they got rid of their legacy accounts, which was literally the only thing that was good about them that prompted people to even use them. There are much better options out there right now such as Binance, simply because Bittrex does not have a responsive or efficient support at all, and they aren't really getting as much volume anymore due to that.

Shit. Can't imagine how you feel yourself now, 10000 $ is a lot. Maybe it would be OK to wait month or two to get back your coins, but this probably that your coins may be lost forever is just terrifying.

If we do talk about a single transactions then 1 month would really be just insane on just to check out a single tx but even if you do have several transactions lets say 3-5 transfers 1 month timeframe would be just too much to consider.I was surprised that they do already give or set a time on when they would able to resolve such issue because usually exchangers wont really give specific time when it regards to problems. They are becoming more stressful as the years goes by thats why i do really hesitate on depositing large amounts of money because of such possible problem.Hanging out your money without assurance is really stressful.

In this case it will be possible for them to credit your deposit, you will need to have a lot of patience until every process is solved and one of the big problems of these exchange is that they have a large number of customers and have a small group of staff to attend and solve the customer problems, so imagine an exchange that has more than 400,000 customers and has only 100 staff to handle support tickets and solve their customers' problems? in this case each problem of a client takes a lot of time to be solved, this is what happens with these exchange, they do not have enough staff

Once I had an issue on my side with bittrex, and I contacted their support. They did take time but they did their check and made sure my account was in safe hands. OP, if you're afraid of losing your funds, you don't have to worry. Bittrex, how much ever they try to fuck up with people's minds, they do what they promise to do. It takes time. That's bad but it is what it is.

And who in their right mind would deposit 10k USD in bittrex? Just because they did a total reincarnation, doesn't make them less shady. I'd only suggest you to be patient, don't spam their support tickets and they'll do what's best for their users, hopefully.

I do not think that the coins are deposited to their address and they are saying like that. I cannot believe on it unless you share the screenshot of your conversation and the proof of your transaction.
Bittrex is an exchange with more security and they care for their customers and they do not take that much time for the resolving any issue to their customers.

After doing trade on binance I also do not use that much because of the low fees on there but I do not have faced any issue from them.

Sorry, I actually meant "memo" instead of TXID. Like the ones you put in Bitshares, Steem and XRP transactions in order for an exchange to identify that it is indeed you who sent the transaction instead of someone else. If you didn't include a description/memo in your transaction that was required by Bittrex, then obviously, they'll need to check it manually.

But if you did include that (which seems like the case), then why do they need to hold your funds for a month?

Like they have the funds in their address already, just credit their users. Simple as that. The amount is clearly in the transaction for them to see. It's not that difficult of a process.

Bittrex's trust has really taken a hit in the past year or so.

Is there anything special at all that may have happened that resulted in this? If you deposited to the right address, above the minimum deposit(obvious in this case), and have all the correct info in your deposit, then there is no reason for them to have to hold your funds in their custody for so long until you actually get a chance to trade with funds that's rightfully yours. They probably don't have the best support system out there as well.

Do update us on the situation as it progresses. Hopefully, you're able to sort this out sooner rather than later.
