Title: Missing MyEtherWallet Private Key (+ didn't register EOS!)
Post by: blockchay on June 08, 2018, 02:00:11 AM
The subject screams n00b, but unfortunately I find myself beside myself wondering how I don't have my MEW private keys written down anywhere.

After shamelessly signing up for multiple airdrops, as well as recently buying the old EOS and transferring to a new MEW wallet (again not saving my private key SOMEHOW and thereby failing to register for the new EOS blockchain), I am left with a mirage of ERC20 tokens sitting on Etherscan.

Is there any way to recover all of my ERC20 tokens that are in my two MEW wallets without my private keys? I know I can transfer the ETH out, but I'm assuming naivety on my part related to the ERC20 contract system and somehow unlocking it without a signature.

Am I fukt? ???

P.S. - If I did have the private key to my MEW wallet that solely holds my old EOS token, supposedly there is a way to reverse register using eoskey.io

No you can't have access to a wallet without your private keys. If you could, then what's the point of having private keys? Unless you have your keystore/JSON file. If you have no any sort of backup, then yea you're fukt.

edit: typo

You can never recover it now unless you have your JSON File ! Next time make sure to have atleast 2 methods to access your Wallets!
