Title: Stolen goods?
Post by: deslok on September 17, 2011, 12:36:39 AM
So i didn't pay much attention to this thread at first
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40036.msg528715#msg528715
but then i saw this one and looked at the users other posts asking about hosting for a not illegal phising script
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=44321.0

the only thing i can conclude is that the minecraft accounts are "stolen" i don't see how that isn't illegal and although i pointed them at bcwh(my knee jerk reaction when i see a wanted for hosting) i don't know what to make of the content they're looking to host

Technically, it's not. I guess it could be under some hacking laws, but I don't think I've seen any cases about individual virtual personal property being taken to court, just DCMA violations.

However, it is pretty much the definition of "black hat".

There were arrests and prosecutions in relation to the theft of virtual goods in Habbo hotel.

There are many other threads related to the thief/scammer Jessica (who is actually a guy it turns out).  Just search for Jessica - he is a well know scammer and did manage to sell some of his ill gotten accounts before being shut down by the community.
