Getting Started:

1. Start up Boxxycoin.qt, wait for it to load, then exit.
2. Put Boxxycoin.conf in your c:/users/**yourcomputername**/appdata/roaming/Boxxycoin

3. restart Boxxycoinqt wallet, and you should connect and sync.
4. Launch cgminer or whatever mining program you like and begin mining.
      cgminer ex: cgminer.exe --scrypt -o localhost:6964 -u **yourusername** -p **password** (without **)

That's probably something we can work with you about. We hadn't been completely positive about the launch time yet.

This much I can tell you- If we launch outside your area, we will announce it with a few hours for you to know in advance.

If it IS outside of your time, you can do the following:

Register on the pool, and set up a worker. Start your worker pointed at the pool. You will not get shares at that point, but at launch time I will open the wallet and stratum server on the pool, and at that point you will have shares coming while difficulty is low, to keep everything fair.

There is a slight pause on launch-- the 4th member of our dev team is at work right now.
He is responsible for getting the wallet to an exchange, and that exchange was going to be ready at launch. We are trying to make sure that still happens. If not, the exchange will be available shortly thereafter.

4% is too much. consider making a public ledger, after you decide to decrease the premine. 2% is greedy let alone 4.

Agreed, especially since giveaways are banned here so it wouldn't do much for bringing attention here. I'm aware you could do giveaways elsewhere, but would that really help?

Boxxy was made famous on 4chan. That's a main place for us to do the giveaways.


Also, a small part of the premine is for bounties-- check out our block explorer once you get a wallet. You'll see that some of the functionality is strange behaving. Needs fixed.

Nobody's gonna touch 4% premined coin. You are delusional if you think it will work out. It won't. If you have done that in December you could get away with it like LOT, EAC etc. (they had 2%), but now with 4% you are going straight to the graveyard, like Gault coin, because you didn't even mention the 4%.

Kind of hard to change a premine that's already done man. And really, its not that bad, considering its purpose.

Its not for profit. The coins will be given away in faucets and giveaways. And aside from your remarks, we already have alot of registrations at the pool. Meaning people are actively waiting this thing out, and will mine it.

You act like bitcoin wasn't premined. Honestly, if you dont trust the coin, why even mention it? Sit back and wait, and check the block explorer to see where the coins go.

Well, as of the moment, we won't be launching at 10. Some guy on 4chan decided to say something to boxxy. Thanks. She initially took it well, and then decided to give a C&D publicly. So, although the devs are trying to find middle grounds with her, its not looking likely.

Inasmuch, this won't launch without her publicly endorsing it.

Seriously not trolling here, but I was wondering why this wasn't done from the start?  Is this a common thing in alts, making a coin with someone's identity and not telling them about it until the genie is already out of the bottle?

Expect a whole new category of lawyers who are going to specialize in prosecuting Altcoin devs, mining pool operators and exchanges if this keeps up, and this will draw a lot of heat from people with the means to make things a lot less fun around here.
