Title: Anyone like the idea of a Coin 2 Coin bitcoin simulation?
Post by: Xenland on September 17, 2011, 08:11:58 AM
Been working on something on the side that a coin 2 coin exchange simulation. I figure it would give traders and non traders a fun game to entertain them selves with.
My goal is to make it as accurate as possible, and  scince it will be a joke exchange i can play with features and possibly inspire exchanges to adapt the features.

I dot know how adding fake funds will work dosent really make sense yet.
I could give new traders to start off with 100fakecoins but then the market can be controlled by those who sign up with multiple accounts and then just cross trade with potentially unlimited funds.
So idk may what i could do is make 1 btc = 100btc in the exchange then everyome can pretend their rich.
Of course if i went this route i would have l btc get sent to an offline address to prevent theft.

Any thoughts? Concerns? Suggestions?

are you talking about demo accounts?

like at oanda.com you can play 'fxgame' which is exactly like 'fxtrade' except it comes with $50,000 in fake funds to practice with.

Exactly, one difference is that it wouldnt make things realistic if high amounts of volume start showing up so im wondering i should just run a joke exchange but witb low amounts of BTC. Like a maximum of 1btc to go in per day just so people know its not "too serious" as far as trading goes.
Bitcoins will be stored in an offline wallet to prevent theft and can be widthdrawn in a day at most.(thats if everyone likes the idea of playing with a couple btc for laughs.

I practically already have secure software already built, I was going to use it for a joint project but I decided to call it off so I'm trying to recycle some of my hard security work to at least some good use then to just delete it all.
