Title: what if i am mining faster then the network hashrate, am i mining for a loss ?
Post by: pvdbincome on June 09, 2018, 04:23:11 AM
quick question . if my hashrate is higher then the pools network hashrate will this mean i am mining with a loss ?

so this pool i am mining on shows that i am mining at 10mh but the network hashrate = 5.9MH

will this 4.1MH be a loss for me ?

hope someone can explain this.

Best regards Pim

Are you sure about it?
What coin we are talking about?

If you have so much power than entire nethash, you should mine as solo.
Anyway, i think something is broken, if you have 10mh, the nethash must increase, maybe take some time to update.

Hmmmm seems a little odd though.  Perhaps the explorer for some reason or another is incorrect, which is not an unusual occurrence and happens quite a bit.  Also, maybe the pool API is misconfigured.

1. what is the diff adjustment policy?

some coins need days to adjust diff, also what is important is how many block you find if coin start to orphan network hash rate will be reported less

if the nethash was already 5 and you add 10 you are mining at 2/3 of the nethash, but would be better to add only 5mh so you still mine 50% instead of 66% but the other 5mh can be pointed at another coin, and you earn much more in the end

The Symbol for Network Hash Rate might be incorrect, might meant to be GH giga instead of MH mega

What coin are you mining?
