If this Asian Whale liquidates the market will crash big time.
Motive for whale to sell : Buy in cheaper or buy some ALTS
If the whale sold in this low volume I hate to think what the price of BTC would go to!

Maybe the whale needs the capital for another deal and will liquidate!

It is unlikely that the Asian whale is eliminated, and the market can not collapse, it holds much.The motive for the sale is the most common, nothing new.Let's hope for positive news.

In my opinion:

If the Whale liquidates it would happen Monday (Asian Time)

If this turns into a sell off or liguidation the markets will react negatively a bit but it will only be short term.
it only represents about 0.5% of the overall current supply and will also create another opportunity to buy in cheaply.

Also if the whale does sell isnt that what so many of us dream of doing ourselves? Isnt the new buzzword "lambo"

This will only have a impact on the Asian exchange and the volumes there, because he would be dumping those coins on that exchange. A lot of whales will just dump a little at a time, to maximize their profits, if they want to sell a large amount of coins. It will make no sense to sell all coins and to create a wall that takes weeks to be broken down.

I would not be to worried about that and remember we had those Silkroad coin auctions before and the Mt Gox coins and we are still here.

I hope he does sell and push the price down. I need to acquire a few more coins for my savings.

I am always optimistic if the price is in good position and best, even though sales prediction reached 95000 btc I think this is just an issue and will not make bitcoin price down in the near future.

Let's see how it pans out. If it breaks 6k range than it will go to 4-5k range for sure. And than I'll be all in on BTC.

If he could plan to sell market would go lesser by now yesterday only he moved there is a probability of pumping other coins also may be he is investing in some other good potential coins . Instead of mf selling huge bitcoin he can control market by buying some other altcoin . May be he is doing that now.

ya.. I will reduce the price few hundred dollars.  Looking at current volume of BTC in 24 hours, it is over 4 billion dollars that is 533k BTC.  95k BTC will worth around 720 million dollars.  So, I think if they sell it gradually and not at all once, market will digest it but again guys it will give us the opportunity to buy in little discount rate.

If they sell and push the market to 7K it will be a bloodbath!

This is kind misleading as the dude has only transferred 8,000 BTC onto the exchange, not the full 95,000?

Look at the graph of this address. Whoever it is has just slowly been accumulating over the last few months.

To everyone who panic solid during the dip - this is who you are selling your coins to at a discount. Whales like these that gobble up the cheap prices and then make profits, while you are lefting wondering if you should buy back in at a higher price than you sold.

Another round of rumors and a lot of users taking the bait.

So, for the sake of the conversation,

1)  let's agree this is a whale, and it's not a stash from huobi itself.
2)  this whale, has bought coins during the period when the price was at 7000-9 000, especially from huobi as the coin tracks are clear
3)  as usual whales have this tendency of buying high and selling low, this is how people with a lot of coins make money, buy buying high and selling low, /sarcasm off



If you drop right now 1200 BTC on huobi the price will go below 7000.
Stop comparing the quantity sold with the volume, you can create 1 trillion in volume by swapping the same 1 BTC a trillion times.

the btc train won't stop its the only real show in town

the alts that are not vulnerable as illegal securities (actually and those that are) have not solved any of the so called flaws of btc they have just reduced the decentralised trustless nature

there are a handful of specialised purpose alts who are flying under the radar that could have long term returns better than holding btc

other than that stop fretting guys these huge dumps if and when they come are opportunities

nobody wants or needs centralised gov or corp projects - we need a global decentrallised trustlest currency or unit of wealth that is easily exchangeable transportable etc etc  btc or btc with LN goes along way to give us exactly what we need.

A good reaction on this kind of situation. No matter what happen to the price of bitcoin I will still hold on this and buy more coins, I have nothing to lose here and I have my faith with bitcoin. I hope to see bitcoin either on top or to survive on this trial, may the force be with us.

And unfortunately all of this are just speculations and none of this are true because if it really did then we had to observe later on the falling down of bitcoin market price. Well i agree with other members here that hoping to sell all those btc so as to get a little bit roll back with btc market price and will definitely get some coins on it. If the news is really true but then in my opinion this is all hoax.

let them sell, no issues at all. This is just a very short term movement, absolutely no effect on long term price whatsoever. We should be completely ignoring exactly this kind of useless news.

Many are concerned about this happening, but hopefully the whale does not sell all those bitcoins, hopefully he just wants to exchange the bitcoin on altcoin so we have to find out what altcoin he will exchange with that much bitcoin so we can take advantage in and continue to hope that there will not be a big impact on bitcoin price movements.

it means he has a very strong sense and capability to manipulate the market. what these whales do actually? nothing, just spread some misleading info and all teh greedy but panicked loosers will  keep selling low, and the will just EAT-UP the massive stock!

wow, that's a very big bitcoin. whether used for what, but i hope that the transaction will bring the development of better bitcoin. does this have anything to do with the current bitcoin price reduction, or not?

Wow! 95000 BTC? Seriously? That's a huge amount of Bitcoin. Is it owned by a single person only? If he really liquidates it, we will be doomed! I can't imagine what would be the price of coins in the market if that happens. I hope that he will ise it to pump some altcoins.

This might be another reason why the price are slowly dumping, tha's a real huge volume of bitcoin that can dump the price of bitcoin within a day but I think there is something good on this news. I hope that it will be use for the pumping days of bitcoin.
