They also regulate the ICO. Now ICO can't be traded with fiat anymore and there is a fee for license.

I think its fair enough and i do think in few months 7 of this coin value could be increasing if more country has the similar regulations such as thailand. That didn't mean that they are also tradeable in their exchanges or those partnerships have nothing to do with the Thai government? Sometimes I can understand ICO regulations due to some scams and it is way better than ban.

It is really good for the Thailand economic development because seven legalised cryptocurrency is enough for that country because population is little less in that country. so we can use few promising coin it is useful in everyday but many potential coins are pay for the license in future it is benefit for investors and few peoples are against in regulations.http://www.livebitcoinnews.com/thai-sec-confirms-ico-tokens-will-not-be-traded-against-fiat-currencies/ What do you think about this regulations? If more countries follow the same trend, regulations and a crackdown on ICOs, then it's obvious that in the long-term the cryptocurrency market (not just those 7 coins) can experience a surge in the prices, mainly because institutional investors could finally invest in cryptos on a large scale given how there'll be a a regulatory framework on the market. But in the short-term, I doubt we'll see those coins going up in value, it's going to take a while before we get rid of the bearish sentiment.Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: mOgliE on June 11, 2018, 06:00:11 PM On digital market regulations mean nothing.

like mushrooms. They should not make it too expensive, because it will create a barrier to entry for the less fortunate ICO projects to enter the scene. These people use ICOs, because they need money for their projects and if they make it too expensive, these ICOs and innovative projects will never see the light of day. Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: magneto on June 11, 2018, 08:12:19 PM I have no reason to oppose regulation in these investments that are probably not even decentralised. So yeah, I'd say that overall, it's a positive move. Nothing has probably changed intrinsically as to how people go about trading crypto/investing in crypto, but it legitimises the act of doing so in Thailand and provides frameworks for companies to start up.
I really don't get why they would only allow citizens to purchase these investment tokens with other cryptos like BTC, and not allow them to purchase them directly with fiat. That doesn't make sense to me. I mean, it just means that people who are investing need to take one extra step in purchasing tokens... The licensing thing is obviously needed, and has been done in other countries way before Thailand. Hopefully it won't be something too much of a hassle. Some level of competition is needed between exchanges in the from of new exchanges. Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: Kez1817 on June 12, 2018, 12:25:23 AM Regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency in one country will lead to government control the decentralization of cryptocurrency. It has a good and negative effect to all cryptonians but for me it is much better than to ban cryptocurrency. Atleast if crypto become legal and there is a regulation to follow, people will not hesitate and have no fear to use and work on crypto. The only sad you need to follow the rules and pay some tax.

I think its fair enough and i do think in few months 7 of this coin value could be increasing if more country has the similar regulations such as thailand. I don't think this regulation is mature or completely developed. The criteria which determines if a crypto currency is legal / illegal should be published and explicitly available to the public to create oversight and accountability in the verification process and help ensure fairness in bar to entry where crypto markets are somewhat equally open to small players as well as big ones. An example of this could be some crypto currencies paying money to be listed on exchanges. This format works "ok" for larger currencies which have more capital to burn. But is not necessarily for smaller investments which represent moreso the smaller business aspect of things. Part of crypto's success revolves around catering to the unbanked and financially unsupported demographics. For that success and growth to continue those demographics must continue to be supported. It is because of the fact that safety in this cryptocurrency industry is the most important part for us. As a bounty hunter or an investor we cannot assure that our money, time and effort poured in a specific project is safe or worth it. There are a lot of projects that turns out to be a scam which leaves bounty hunters unpaid and investors loss their money. Although I get the sentiments of some users as it defeats the purpose of crypto's of having no central body. No government yet has openly regulated crypto's, so we can't have basis of comparison if it should be regulated or not. Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: Xenoph0bia on June 12, 2018, 06:25:08 PM Legalization of the cryptos is a good step for the coins to head towards being a mainstream currency. This will allow the coins to get more widely accepted in the financial market. However, regulation of the cryptos will lead to a bad impact as the coins are famous for their decentralised nature and the fact that they are flexible and not bound to any rules and regulations by any currency. This makes the coin corruption free and also reduce an individual's dependance on banks.

Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: Harlot on June 12, 2018, 07:13:43 PM I think this is there way of avoiding money laundering schemes of their tax payers. Simply avoiding direct ICO sales from their own fiat currency will force their traders to use the allowed cryptocurrencies in their country. Another thing that I favor on what their doing is screening the cryptocurrencies first before letting it be traded in their market. Unlike what other countries are doing right now where they are removing certain anonymity centered cryptos such as Monero and Zcash, this is what is happening to South Korea where they ordered their exchanges to pull out this coins from their platform.

But, why are there still many countries that do not think the same as Thailand? whether they do not see the potential of crypto for the advancement of the state whereas those countries will benefit greatly by accepting crypto as another option of payment method other than fiat currency. Regulation of the ICO solves this problem. I think that sooner or later we will come to regulating.

Regulation of crypto-currencies has a number of advantages for individuals and opens new opportunities for the development of the crypto-currency market. First and foremost, the advantage is safety. With the assistance of regulators, investors receive information about the owners of the resource and guarantee that in case of fraud, scammers will be prosecuted.
Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: miyaka26 on June 16, 2018, 03:31:12 PM Countries should follow the example of Thailand for the regulations and legalization as far as it is not violating the sense of decentralization and they are not abusing the regulation, ICO needs to be restricted in some ways to avoid or to lessen those scammers that paint bad image towards the cryptocurrency, good thing they legalize some cryptocurrencies.
Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: googs84 on June 17, 2018, 07:49:15 AM It is not really a regulation of some sort but its just an update regarding what Thailand might be doing with the crypto currencies which are elected by them. Now I dont understand one thing here at all, as to how they will regulate only few altcoins and will not do it for all of them? Its completely decentralised system and people still can use other currencies internally (Ex. on an exchanger) and thus convert miscellaneous coins into the so called legal coins. That just doesn't make any sense. Why they are imposing such partial regulatory bill here. Whats the use of it anyways.
Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: Adamant06 on June 17, 2018, 11:32:07 AM Cryptocurrency has changed the view of the financial world. If the government bans bitcoin it would be a big risk. But people find it hard to enforce restrictions. The cryptocurrency is widely spread in big business. And it will be difficult to recognize it as illegal and ban it. I agree that generally people find it hard to enforce restrictions. Regulations and legalization of cryptocurrency are not just as easy like signing papers in a contract etc,.If cryptocurrency will be regulate and legalize it should consider the safety of all including investors. In my own opinion, its not that bad afterall rather it has the advantage.Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: senne on June 17, 2018, 11:34:53 AM Thailand has defiantly taken a positive step towards cryptocurrency, today they have declared 7 crypto currencies which can be legally traded. Why are they just accepting these 7, they should have looked all the tokens that could do as well. If they choose 7 of the cryptocurrencies, its possible that they may add some more of it later. I think this is just the start. These 7 might just deprive the rest of the tokens. In general though it could help the crypto adoption. I think that one thing we are not lacking is competition. Or at least attempts to become competition, because if we actually look to most projects, they are nothing more than copies of other projects, and that doesn't necessarily classify them as competition. Not saying that other projects should be deemed illegal, on the contrary. I do think everyone should be allowed to create it's own project, but I'm just saying they need to become better, and serve a real purpose. Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: Baoo on June 17, 2018, 07:05:57 PM Well, this is a good move by Thailand's government. Plus, this regulation of cryptocurrencies is acceptable and expected because they are the best coins on the market in terms of characteristics (Price, Market cap, Volume...) and it is certain that this is a good start from this country, and hope that the other governments will recognize the cryptocurrencies in the near future, and I am pretty sure that this will happen after some period,t is true that this is a difficult time due to the market in bad volatility. and there are many problems that led to this widespread decline in the majority of cryptcurrencies.

Why only 7 cryptocurrencies that are able to e traded against ICO tokens? I would like to see some of the logic behind why this particular decision is made, to be honest.
This doesn't really affect bitcoin itself much, since it's more about the regulation of these crypto tokens and securities than anything else. Most countries already have pretty mature regulation in terms of bitcoin exchanges, by the way. These are not an issue at the moment. But a lot of the countries are actually only recently coming out with new regulations regarding the ICO tokens, which is exactly what Thailand is addressing here. I can see the need for it in order to avoid crypto used especially in drugs and money laundering. I would say that some governments have banned the crypto and the legalization of crypto is easy if there is the option of regulation. The government wants the economy to operate at a good level and therefore do not want any sought of illegal activities in the economy. AS a result of that, many have banned the coin. I think regulation will be good and that it will allow the technology to expand and many people would be able to make use of it. Decentralization has never been an easy alternative. It requires people to step outside their comfort zone and to actually contribute effort to obtain financial freedom and everything around it. People for the first time ever have the ability to conveniently use a tool that allows them to transact and maintain wealth online, and that without anyone capable of limiting you. Gold has been a great tool back in the days, and still is, but the convenience that Bitcoin offers is certainly changing how we are dealing with value. There is an upfront fee of 5 million baht (~US$156,194), which is separated into 2.5 million each for token distribution and cryptocurrency operations, the publication described. Fees charged for brokerage firms and digital asset dealers are 2.5 million and 2 million baht, respectively.
In addition, the publication wrote. Registered capital for digital exchanges is stipulated at 50 million baht for a centralized exchange and 25 million for brokers, while a decentralized exchange is at 10 million and a decentralized broker is at 5 million. However, the news outlet did not clarify how decentralized brokers and exchanges without a company associated with them would satisfy these requirements. I guess technically you can kind of do that, just sucks that the governments are getting involved. The never ending issues on Regulation by the government financial institution who where critical on Bitcoin crypto currency. It is decentralized system, with blockchain system in placed, good fundamentals, with support system by the investors growing as it posted with the ups and down of the market. Some financial institution is really on the look out about Bitcoin digital transaction. Either they want Bitcoin to be Taxed or they are just resisting the entry of crypto digital transaction in the trading market. Actually, some countries would be quick and smart enough to take steps into at least being a part of the space since they realize the benefit it could bring for the economy of the country, while some will just be so adamant and stupid enough even with their draining economy. This is one country that is at least giving it a shot, at least it is a start and that is lenient enough to me, which shows they are interested to see the space develop and sanely be a part of it including the citizens, not like a dead economy like Zimbabwe trying to block every means to see cryptocurrency being used. I really pity countries like that. Let see that they have restricted the trading of token with fiat , Ofcourse doller is not fiat of the thiland and also people in thiland can buy bitcoin and another altcoin asset to make buy of tokens in the ICOs project and this will clearly Result into easy to run ICO without any type of restrictions , so here rules are just formalities only . And also here the rule of the legalisation of the fee Cryptourrency is not a big deal because they can't have background transaction of the another cryptourrency at exchange ( only a written data to buy and sell coins ) , so clearly here everything is open to work and there is no restriction . Here I will hope that same types of the rule enter in the another countries where bitcoin is still not legalised and regualted yet . No problem if you are not trade your fiat in ICO , but you can buy a Bitcoin and the others with a fiat. Maybe this kind of limitations in every ico are good for now and also in the future. I think its fair enough and i do think in few months 7 of this coin value could be increasing if more country has the similar regulations such as thailand. I definitely believe that if more countries start to legalize and regulate cryptocurrency, it would affect the market by attracting more investors- thus increasing the price of bitcoins in the market. As the demand increases for a certain product, the supply decreases and eventually increases the price. In this case, if countries would utilize cryptocurrency and make regulations that cater to its development, expect prices to increase and making investments skyrocket. People should be happy with how the market has gone down. Instead of paying top prices you can get a way better deal right now. ;) With respect to regulation most especially, that is something we obviously cannot run away from. We may avoid them only when everything will be available for bitcoin payments but from your neighbor and friends. I guess that kind of society will be built very soon then we may avoid/overcome those government's regulations and restrictions. Legalizing of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies around the world is required in large scale to move forward focusing growth. I do not like the idea of having more regulation in the market but I also recognize that it is almost inevitable that we get more regulation since governments are focusing more ad more in cryptocurrencies since they have realized that they are a real threat to the stability of their economies, but it does not matter what they do at the end cryptocurrencies will be successful and their attempts at regulating the market will fail.I don't think bitcoin is as much threat to economic stability of some countries as it is for people with political power and authority. The crytocurrency market would be set back if relevant regulations are not imposed on ICOs. It does not even have to be extremely strict but can be lenient enough and still be able to help do the needful. One thing with the ICO space is that the main bone of problem is the way scammers have been invading the space and causing huge issues and if this can be a target to be able to curb such, it would really help and there is a way the rule with regulation can come to play which will make the whole thing about ICO come with some sanity by putting some rules in place for any registered company that may want to run an ICO and not just anyone coming up with bullshit. In USA they first legalized it than they regulated it and now they are giving out futures and so forth about it. The more countries like that the higher bitcoin will be.

Digital coins are mined by users through the use of high-tech and powerful devices that perform certain calculations. Subsequently, the thus extracted virtual money you can "print" on the e-wallet, and cash. Due to the growing popularity of this type of earnings, many States are concerned about the legal regulation of cryptocurrencies. The article will focus on what countries equated cryptocurrency to payment means, on what conditions transactions with digital money are carried out, and which States recognize the use of cryptocurrencies but do not regulate them legally.
Title: Re: regulation and legalization of cryptocurrency Post by: RippleSpaset on August 11, 2018, 08:25:59 PM Before proceeding to the story about the attitude of different States to digital currencies, it should be noted that the cryptocurrency is a decentralized means of payment. It is transferred from one person to another without intermediaries. The state banking system does not participate in this exchange, and the amount of transactions, as well as information about the sender and recipient are known only to the participants of this system. That is, the state can not track who made the money transfer, to whom and for what service.Potentially, the use of cryptocurrencies not only limits the state from a number of tax and Commission revenues, but also in the long term jeopardizes the functioning of the banking system, as well as the feasibility of these financial institutions.Despite these negative factors, cryptocurrencies are officially allowed in some countries, and some countries are going to formalize the digital currency. And only in some countries blockchain and cryptocurrencies are under strict prohibition.

And this is very important for the government to regulate or legalize the cyrptocurrency. This is actually the need of the day which is expanding in countries that are developed and rely on technological advancements.
