Title: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: smygflik on February 02, 2014, 08:50:05 PM Hello!
I bought a new nvidia card some months ago, the GTX780 because i mostly use my computer for gaming and I like nvidia for that better (no need to discussion my opinon about that ;) ). But... I've also followed the cryptocurrency development since 2011 starting with bitcoin, so i'm also interested in mining. Sadly I missed that train, but now it's entertaining to gamble with the alt-coins. Im using cudaminer today (many thanks to cbuchner1!) and i'm getting roughly around 620-640KH/s with the latest git-version. Im running Windows 7 x64 with a i7 3930k @ 4.3Ghz, 16GB ram and SSD. The card is overclocked with ASUS GpuTweak to 1146Mhz/6700Mhz. Pressing it any higher results i BSOD. Temperature is around 80°C and I've tried to raise the PowerTarget and also temperature limit by a few °C. No, its not GTX 780 Ti. Bought this before Ti was announced. I use it with the following options: Code: cudaminer.new.exe -i 1 -H 1 -l Z12x24 Do you guys have any hints or ideas if it's possible to squeeze some more out of it? Oh, and I'm talking about scrypt. Also, running the auto-tuning seems broken atm, i'm getting a lower KH/s when I let it chose. TL;DR: Running latest git of cudaminer with GTX780, getting roughly 620-640KH/s, is possible to get it higher? Title: Re: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: anycoins on February 02, 2014, 11:31:06 PM 640 with NVIDIA
are you seriously? maybe some screenshots even there https://litecoin.info/Mining_Hardware_Comparison (https://litecoin.info/Mining_Hardware_Comparison) there is no such results Title: Re: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: h3rlihy on February 03, 2014, 01:04:33 AM 640 seems insane with a 780. I'm running a 770 myself and get 270-300kh/s and I thought that was pretty good...

I hope you choke on a dick sir. You claimed that his speeds on the 780 were not doable I was posted that my shitty old 680s were doing much better then your posts on your cards... that is all I dont need to post a screen shot to validate my config. Title: Re: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: h3rlihy on February 03, 2014, 01:45:10 AM I never once claimed it was not doable. I am just genuinely surprised at how he got it hashing so well compared to my own figure and wondering where I could improve. Why don't you calm yourself down?
Title: Re: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: Ritual on February 03, 2014, 08:28:54 AM The latest version of Cudaminer seems to contain a HUGE increase in KHashes. My Zotac GTX570 is hashing away at 245KHash, which I never expected from such a mediocre card.
I'm not complaining :) Still gotta add a couple of decent Radeons though, and get going for real :) Rit. Title: Re: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: h3rlihy on February 03, 2014, 02:10:17 PM Thanks for the heads up Rit, got another 20 kh/s myself by updating my cudaminer. Looks like another version was released yesterday. It's not a lot but it helps :D

Thanks for your report. Your hashrate is so much better than that here lol. https://litecoin.info/Mining_Hardware_Comparison Title: Re: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: Ritual on February 03, 2014, 04:23:29 PM Hugely better. And my card is a Zotac, which has the worst performance for that chip in the list. So doubly surprised and happy.

I didn't think a screenshot was relevant, but here it is. https://i.imgur.com/4z9DNqL.png Title: Re: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: Sonny on February 05, 2014, 09:30:41 AM Why all this hate and disbelief? I guess some of us here just surprised about your hashrate, but not really hate lol. Title: Re: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: Olly_K on February 05, 2014, 10:37:38 AM I'm getting about 550 on my 780 GTX since the update to the latest version :)

Your hashrate is so much better than that here lol. https://litecoin.info/Mining_Hardware_Comparison I Am using the Asus GTX660 and only getting 202khs using the 02-09 build, any ideas on how o get up around to around 400khs? Title: Re: Cudaminer and GTX780 Post by: Ritual on February 26, 2014, 12:10:01 PM Try the 12-18-2013 build. It does run hotter, but as long as you keep your fan on high, it's fine. I forgot at one point and my temps ran to 90-95C which led to the card frying itself. After I reballed it, I didn't forget again :) With fan at 85%, my GTX570 is hashing away at approx 245Kh at 65C, which is perfectly acceptable.
