Our environment are getting worse everyday, by air pollution, water pollution, global warming, not enough of disposal landfill, more endanger species. Blockchain improved many of our life, can it also help with these problem?

There are many ICO project which is using blockchain technology to help environment as impact directly or indirectly. So your question for the ability of blockchain to improve the environment is yes.

The blockchain is a platform or a technology which helps to make a decentralised transactions between the parties. It is owned by no one, with a copy of it being stored on many personal computers around the world. Anyone can use it and help run the network. Blockchain might but Bitcoin won't. We really need PoS. That way we can have low power sensor for co2 water quality monitoring etc(one mine equals each a set unit of whatever your measuring) you will also need a flat mining difficulty.

That said there are some approaches for instance using carbon trading credits as money. As well as tokenising this was. So for instance rather than reducing their co2 emissions a company will pay to buy co2 allowances this could then be used to buy say sweatcoins  (since if your walking your not driving and lowering emissions) or timeshare tokens or forest tokens which would be based on the amount of forest saved. Blockchain could discourage corporations and governments from back-pedalling on their environmental promises or misreporting their progress, because the technology would allow to transparently track important environmental data, and show whether commitments were met. Once the data is entered into the public blockchain, it stays there forever.

Legal document storage on the blockchain could cut down on fraud and manipulation, for example within the global carbon credits scheme.  Around 979 million is spent annually on administrate this system alone. If you have an immutable record of credits bought and sold, then there is little chance of corporations and governments looking the other way when carbon credits are bribed or sold illegal.

Definitely. Although at the moment there is not any significant project introducing the protection of environment, but I think the tech like logistic tracking system is a similar one. The government can check regularly on the polluted area, trace back to which factory might be producing very heavy or unnecessary pollution.

And go back to riding horses, while we're at it, and dismantle all hospital equipment. You have to compare the amount of harm to the amount of help first, not to 0.

You could create your own token and pay people with it to get you biodegradable and nondegradable materials like plastic to your small scale factory.
Finished products from the factory can be sold around your County or internationally. You could make buyers buy the products with the token or simply make paying with it an alternative. You could get people use the token more by reducing the prices of products purchased with the token.

Similar to a project I posted about, albeit different environmental issues. We are not quite there yet,but there is work is ongoing. It's just a matter of time and money (more money,less time or more time less money)

I think switching from PoW to PoS coins/projects is a good start. Maybe there will be a way for blockchain to regulate our carbon footprint someday.
