My friend in Canada told me that bitcoin payment has been used in KFC. What does that mean?

I don't think this is a common phenomenon. It may just be a publicity among several KFCs that they are trying to attract customers, and they will not always do this.Maybe just try for a few weeks.

It is really a big news in the current market dip. I think if KFC of all branches accept bitcoin as a payment option, a big demand as well as market flow would be generated. And it will affect on the price of bitcoin entirely.

It is a pretty old news so it has nothing to do with the current market dip in any way. KFC started accepting bitcoin payment through bitpay back in January, 2018. Yeah you're correct buddy that is old news and I read about that news months ago. I think KFC that time just wanted to join the Hype of Bitcoin early January and also some exposure to promote their company, I don't think that people will be interested on buying a KFC bucket meal using Bitcoin because of the high fees at that time.  ;D

what it means is that it just shows to the whole world that bitcoin is a currency and a very good one at that. this is one of many different real world use cases of bitcoin and in short this is why bitcoin price rises in the long term whereas everything else drops in the long term. because bitcoin has real usage.

Yes it is, but still if KFC accept it, it doesn't mean mass adoption. Clever move on their side though, virtually no risk for the products they are selling and long term reward for sure.

This is not very new but yeah I think from this year it is possible. Interesting news, but not so much that the bitcoin rate has grown up very much. This is just the news that Canada began to accept Bitcoins and it is loyal to the cryptocurrency. Canada, though not included in the top 10 countries for the development of bitcoin. But it definitely should be in the top 20.

That's a great news, i think all branches of KFC in canada accepting bitcoin payment. Government of canada starting to embrace bitcoin and that has a big impact on the price of bitcoin entirely.

It was just a publicity stunt and it was not done in all KFC branches. We hoped that this might spark a global adoption of all KFC branches, but nothing has happened so far. I will not get too exited until I see a "Bitcoin Accepted here" sticker in all the branches. They did not report their findings anywhere, so we might never know how successful that experiment was.  :(

Now, Where is McDonald's and the rest of the global franchises?

This is not an recent event, as I recollect this has happened earlier what may be recent that your friend has seen it now which is encouraging that people are seeing it and spreading it out to others, there is no better publicity than than word of mouth. I don't think there has been any major effect on the prices though so let's see if in long term there's any effect.

Ive read some post where mcdonalds accepts bitcoin as a payment so its not that surprising to hear that KFC accepts bitcoin next. Even though thats the case, we should be thankful that more and more shops and places accepts cryptocurrency. If this would continue, its possible that bitcoin is accessible all over the world for the next 5 years.

Random companies have been doing Bitcoin acceptance promotions for years. 2013/2014 had tons of companies. It's a complete non-issue marketwise. And if anything, the trend was for people to sell when companies like Microsoft announced they were accepting Bitcoin. Why did people sell? Because companies sign up with payment processors like Bitpay who immediately sell their BTC they recieve in sales and convert it to USD. Thus people perceive that as a negative from a market perspective.

Very advanced once this bitcoin, i believe more and more compaines are joining the bitcoin to transact. The development of the era is really amazing, i am happy to get to know and invest with this bitcoin. Hopefully more companies in the countries that use it.

This is something that could really attract some new customers and maybe it is just a test and maybe its a trial run but whatever it is. All I heard about the KFC and cryptocurrency was a hype when they introduced a new bucket called "Bitcoin" or kind of that. And everyone who had a lack in ability of reading and understanding were screaming that KFC is going to launch their own coin. That was a half of a year ago.

There is nothing to do with KFC accepting bitcoin as payment in this current dip, but if you say that korea creates a hack in cryptocurrency it is more likely the reason why it dump so hard within this 24 hour period. Although it is an old news but there is nothing special with it that bitcoin price is not affected by this old news.

Yes that is really a very great improvement, and even KFC is here in my country, but still they are not accepting bitcoin, but now i also have a hope that very soon they will even start accepting bitcoin in my country, because have the same channel and therefore they must have the same policy everywhere.

This may be old news but it's still good news. Clearly we need the Lightning Network developed to allow for instant, cheap transactions. Once people can order fast food with bitcoin once again, the sky will be the limit for its value.

It was a pretty good news to us who uses bitcoin. If all of the KFC branch will accept bitcoin as payment with the orders of food that we buy to them it will be a big impact to the market. The thing is that there's little to no incentive to use Bitcoin as a payment method. It works great as a unique investment asset, but credit cards are much more consumer friendly because of the perks and rewards they offer. Plus the fraud protections.

There could be many possibilities to your statement, as you say that KFC accepted Bitcoin as a payment method but there is also a possibility that user or manger introduced Bitcoin as a payment of method on their own cost as if KFC would have introduced Bitcoin as a payment method it would be seen in various stores, also it could be better if you show us receipt showing payment down by bitcoin.
