Title: bss Post by: XSpanded on September 18, 2011, 05:34:34 PM I know a lot bit more than I did since my last post.
I decided to start over from the beginning this is what I did downloaded cpuminer-installer-1.0.2.zip I have 7zip so I used that to extract the files into a bitcoin folder in my program files I have bitcoin installed and I installed a wallet I then downloaded bitcoin-rpcminer-20110227-win32bin.zip and using 7zip I extracted the files into my bitcoin folder. The interesting thing is in my c: drive I have a new folder called cpu-miner I extracted all the files from cpu-miner.exe and opened all the files using notepad++ and the only file that I assume I should be editing is .bss because it is blank. I hope I found the configuration file for cpu-miner so when I run minderd it will mine bitcoins for me and not the programmer. Also rpcminer-cpu and rpcminer-4way show a return value of 7 but arent set up. I will repay anyone who helps me figure out this. I know that in notepad++ I need to define XML DOM elements and use hashtags to run said programs. I need help with a place to start. I couldn't find any XML DOM samples that related to anything important and it's way more difficult than html. Shorter post I hope you read the whole thing. I'm going through the test to run with my rcpminer-cpu the readme files directed me to go to... lol. read it if you know where it is. You will probably never going to get a single bitcoin or even satoshi. Your CPU is too slow for the network so you will be mostly processing stale shares. You need a GPU. A GPU is a requirement, not a recomendation. But aren't there much better ways to have fun on your computer? If you are motivated by the idea that you will get a few coins, then forget it, not going to happen.
