Title: Quick Gigabyte/Asus 280x Question
Post by: prowler9 on February 03, 2014, 02:29:38 AM
How much watts does the gigabyte 280x take with 730Khz? or even the Asus 280x
has anyone checked that, was wondering because i wanted to run 5 of them with this powersupply (Rosewill HERCULES-1600 1600W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS SILVER, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply )

seeing as Lepas are unavailable everywhere!

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: also i read on a reddit someone was running 6 280x on this powersupply, pretty much full load right? 710Khz+

Alright, you're in luck. I happen to have this board and recently borrowed a UPS from work to test the draw from the wall with my gear. Here's what I collected:

PSU Load Data via "APC Back-UPS Pro 1000"

ASUS P8z68-V Motherboard with an i5 and 8GB of random memory
GIGABYTE Radeon R9 280X on PCIe x16 slot
Voltage: 1.075
GPU Clock: 1020MHz   Memory: 1500

118watts IDLE
316watts Mining
330-360watt Spikes
