Title: Miner on an usb flashdrive Post by: Acidyo on February 03, 2014, 08:15:25 AM Heard form a friend that he was able to get his hands on a miner that you have on your usb flashdrive and you can start mining on computers with restricted admin configurations.
What this means is he goes to his local library, puts in the usb flash drive in the computers and they start up a miner that mines cpu/gpu on a certain % (so that normal users using the pc's for surfing won't notice any lag) and he does this on 30-40 pcs, all mining litecoins or whatever for him day and night (since the pc's are on 24/7). Anyone heard of this? Is it available for download anywhere? CGMiner isn't malware (though it's often mislabeled as such by AV programs). You'd need to figure out how to elevate the permission level of the CGMiner instance. Not my area, though. You'd probably get slapped with a felony charge if in the US since it's not a matter of if it's discovered, but when.Title: Re: Miner on an usb flashdrive Post by: Acidyo on February 03, 2014, 08:35:38 AM Can people use that on pc's that don't even allow you to open unknown exe files?
