Title: Suggestion: Job Board
Post by: BTC Turkiye on June 14, 2018, 01:13:35 AM
What do you guys think about having a category for Jobs, Gigs and Employmentand sub categories as

  • Job offers
Full Time
Part Time
Vocational
On-Call
  • Resumes
  • Gigs

You can extend the subs more (as to localizing each and adding more languages etc) but I couldn`t find anything about jobs and resumes in a well organized manner in this forum. I`d strongly suggest we open one. I can be the mod of that also if needed.

This is "services" listed under "marketplace"

I don`t see this being even similar to a job board where people look for employees and employers

You might want to check its last 10 pages (you'll find such thread easily) and in addition to that, I've seen some posts in "Project Development (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=12.0)".

Better to keep them in service board, I think. There is not much job offers posted here to fill the category and its subs. Besides, there's already a better place, like angel.co, where people could search for job in crypto-related startups.

OP  just want to see a clear sign which anybody could fit themselves to what job they like. Like if a person wants to work only for part time then it would be easy to apply.

services section is confusing sometimes there are employers who want to hire programmers for a contract and campaigns and any other services.

Unlike what op wants to elaborate. Easy to find and easy to choose and apply.

However, "services" section is there.  we only need to be wise and have time to search.

<...>

Given the actual situation of the forum, a "Job" board probably will end in a spam-fest and a beggers-scam niche, for at least a 99% of the newcomer's goal is to find a job in the forum.

Maybe having a "messy" board for such kind of information is the best desition by now, for everything new is doomed to be scammed as hell.

As for today, some threads that have to be in Service section, are created in Project Development and oppositely. These two section has the function of "Job Board", especially Service <--
Anyone can create thread and offer service, so everyone can request service.
If you'll see my last thread about PHP developer, I found one man almost immediately this way.
And there are some websites which offer HR in crypto, see service announcement section for finding them.

Maybe it would be enough to somehow get the Services section less 'messy'... Somehow we should clean up the scam topics and get rid of the auto-bump services for some topics (if there's any), in that case all the newbies and all the members could easily find what they're looking for.
(But using the 'search' function could help even more...)

You probably already know the answers to these questions; Scams aren't moderated, and bumping if it's against the rules can be reported, and removed. I'm not sure on the forums moderation stance on auto bump services. I imagine they wouldn't act unless the user has been caught in auto bumping, but offering the service probably is a little bit of a grey area, and would depend on the mod dealing with it.
