Title: fan connection on S9 bitmain: front and rear?
Post by: dutchlincoln on June 14, 2018, 04:28:47 AM
Hello,

I have some s9's, and the connction of the front and rear fan are different on some.
Now, previously someone told me that it doesnt matter where front and rear fan are connected to, but i think it actually does.
The fans have different amount of blades, and current is different as well.
So, can anyone tell me which connector is for the frontfan, and which one is for the rear?
Awesome miner gives on some different speeds also, and some are equal.

Most logic to me, is that the more blades, the lower speed should be correct?

Anyone?

It does not matter. Fan, with  blowing in , is with less power and AMPS

I think the front fan you talking about is the front fan(intake air) under the control board and rear fan behind the control board which is exhaust fan and it doesn't matter which fan you have.

Anyway, you can manually set the fan speed into highest if you wan't just to cool down your miner, you can follow the guide here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2690140.0
