Bitcoin is having a free fall after it's price skyrockted last December 2017. The question now is will it continue to crash?

Err your title is misleading. What hits a new low since 2016 is Bitcoin's RSI indicator, not the price itself. The recent price low of $6133 is just a 70 days low, as mentioned in the article.

This is already an answer to your question, we can't dictate this market only time can tell if its going to continue dumping or its time to wake up and make investors believe on this again. Well, don't hit any new low right now because in January 2017 the price is about $1k so better to look at the history price well.

looking at the historical graphs, this happens kinda yearly, but it's always a with higher lows and higher highs!

Percentage Wise yes ,the  price have been free falling from the all time high of $20,000 to the $6,000 area that is more than a 100%  but price wise it is not the lowest. Now for the question the $6,000 area is the best support area we have. It have been tested multiple times and also being tested as of the moment. It seems that still the $6,000 support is holding. I do not think that it will continue to crash but I think it will take some time to recover from this crash price.

Yes, bitcoin continue to fall in the market today. Last few week it fell to $8k to $7k and this week it still struggle and fall to $6k. Survey says that if it will continue its poor performance it will less again. But the good thing is, after few months, it will recover as predicted by the expert. Before 2018 ends, bitcoin will be back again in the market.

You need to have patience if you want to deal with bitcoin as it a long term investment. Price fluctuation is bitcoin's crucial nature. If the price is low now, probably in next few months it may rise very high. People should hold their coins till then.

If you took a minute and checked the link which OP provided, you would understand what he meant with "new low since 2016". He was referring to RSI (relative strength index) and not the actual price.

First of all, this is a false headline. Bitcoin has not reached a new low.
And according to the K diagram, bitcoin has always been on an upward trend.

If you look into the graph, you'll see bitcoin has higher fluctuation. So, there's is no need to worry. Hold your coins. The price will increase very soon, may be at the end of this year the price will start to rise high.

true. it always comes down to what investors think. and they always are looking for indicators such as this. we are going down for now but also we are getting closer to that specific price level where majority of investors will think "that's the price I want to buy at" and when that happens we will see the bottom and the reversal will start as the rest of the market becomes much stronger than the minority whales dumping these days.

Please do a good research before you post something. The price of bitcoin went very low few months ago. Probably, below $6700. But, now the price is going upward. It will increase more in the future.

that's what happens when the dumping gets out of hand. even the manipulating whales get greedy sometimes and dump too much and the market is always unpredictable for everyone so a newbie wave can crash the market more than you wanted to and create stagnation like this. i generally don't pay much attention to RSI but it seems like i am alone in that. now i am curious to see what is going to happen next because of it?!

Well, it is very hard to know what exactly be happen in the near future. But I think it doesn't matter if it's fall again and what are the most important is it will rising up again and continuously to pump so there will be a chance to recover. We don't even know what it will be ,maybe by the next couple of days it will pump again so it is better for now is always think positive so positive things will come to our way.

yes we know that last year the price of bitcoin is down until right now but i think it will rising up soon after bitcoin can pass this "storm" and will rise up more and more because we can see that bitcoin has the good popularity and be the good media for investment, so investor will buy bitcoin for their investment

This is sad but true that we need to accept the fact that Bitcoin price is not stable at it was very risky for an investments because the price is really unpredictable. We just hope that this will not create a panic among holders as i see that the price is average declining since Jan this year because if the people will panic then for sure the price will reach below $6,000 as per predictions by the others.

it is not fair to compare the current price of bitcoin by 2017 while 2018 is not over, then what if bitcoin is compared in 2012 with 2017 Bitcoin has increased the number of times for it. so comparing something to something that has not been exhausted time is very unfair, so let's look at the time to come

Thats true because there are  exchange are manipulating of it like coinbase,bitstamp and now they are under investigating about it and not only those exchange but bigwhales also.

We have been preaching that bitcoin investment is very risky, so I don't think that we didn't do our part and now the inevitable happened, the price free fall from as high as $20,000. But it doesn't mean that we can't bounce back. And I think that the consensus around is that we can truly get back to our feet, but we need to wait for that perfect timing again. But as the title of the thread says (quite misleading), even though we hit rock bottom again, its another big opportunity for all of us to get and purchase bitcoin at a cheap price and reversals soon will be realized. Its just a matter of time, IMHO.

Be greedy when people panic, that is my tactics. Right now I buy 3 BTC and wait for the price to rise again. Things will turn green, nothing to worry too. ;)

I am waiting for another drop to buy more Bitcoin. I lost $ 3000 when the TRX and XLM prices fell. That is sad :'( :'(

Crash on the market cryptocurrency especially bitcoin is always going to happen, whether it's what the problem and the cause of the crash are why we will not know it before it happens. You could have waited for a few more days, until the prices stabilize. As of now, it looks like the prices are going to fall further. I won't be too surprised, if the exchange rates go below the $5K or even the $4K levels.

Good idea mate instead of worrying and posting any nonsense topic , because actually bitcoin will not end like this.   especially on this circumstances which is bitcoin is still on the top of all currency and still promising, so must buy more now instead seeking more information to obtain specific reason behind the market circumstances. 'cause  we already knows how the market plays nowadays due to some causes, So much better to buy more now 'cause we are already on the down price which is the  bottom,  and wait for it to stabilize again 'cause surely it will bounce back again soon.

On last December 2017, all of are very surprisingly on the movement of bitcoin. No one was expecting to that. In that scenario I'll find out that nothing is impossible to happen in bitcoin movements. It can be deeply dip to fact that we can't imagine to happen but it will happen and that will be the real system is, so no matter what will be the value of it the most important is it will be recover again and performing much better movements so all of us will be benefited.

I do think that the biggest factor is the governance by the whales.
They along with bigger companies holding a fair share of Bitcoins , tend to change the market according to their will and that's something that's not good .
The price also usually goes down around this time , but it doesn't drop that much.
I think also the festival season was near thus people encashed the Bitcoins and also the whales , summing up both of it could decrease the price of Bitcoins enormously , it could be the reason ..we cannot be sure of anything completely because it's decentralized.

As for now what we can probably do is to wait bitcoin to come to fully grown of price. I think next month we will come another history of bitcoin value in the market.

Possible yes! Maybe this price crash of bitcoin will continue as low as at 6,000 USD and hope so this price crash stop and the value of bitcoin rise again. But this price crash is normal. If you remember last year 2017 at the mid of June the price of bitcoin almost hit at less than 6,000 USD and the recovery of it is start at late of July and early of August.

we will see after a few days if its continue to fall then most of the investor will be broken hearted those who didn't sell their token after it hits almost 10k. but let me tell you what if the price suddenly get high again so the good thing to do with this downfall is to buy some coins and wait for it to rise again.

Sad to say but it is true the market is still going down and bitcoin is stila in trouble. The good thing is that bitcoin was able to overcome this kind of problem so coming back is not new to bitcoin. Well upon my own research and own study about the market I found out that this is true. Bitcoin is having a downtrend again so this might make us sad. But the good thing is that bitcoin has the ability to conquer this problem it may not be easy but I'm hoping that history will repeat itself and bitcoin will rise again.

Well, it's really hard to accept that bitcoin is still going down due to this bear market but it is the reality. So, let's prepare for that fall and while market is still like this, hold your btc for good and consider buying once the down trend had stabilized. From there, will have to wait for a few months until the recovery of btc will again bounce back. I think that the current price for a biktoin is an opportunity to purchase it. Of course, we are not immune to an even greater fall. But the market is very volatile. Therefore, each will decide for himself what he will do.

I don't know how true but I have read a news that aside from the looming prospect of regulation, a series of high-profile thefts have also had a hand in the sudden rapid dips in value bitcoin and its rivals have experienced - the most recent of which was a failed raid on the Binance cryptocurrency exchange. I understand how you feel right now because not only you experienced that right now, our only way to ease that feeling to trust that bicoin will rise again.

Don't worry, those might just be because more people sold their coins for some reason, this is basically just a flow of BTC prices. They change overtime. Nothing to worry here.

finally, we reach $5838 and still downing for now. the number of $5600 appears and maybe it will down until that price so be careful. I see that the downtrend is coming again after it's increasing for a while in a few hours ago. don't panic is the key to survive in this situations and check the market before you decide to enter the market. we know that this is the hard situations but we still need to stay calm to anticipate every possibility that might happen.

I don't think that it is the lowest price sincr 2016 because it hits below $3000 last year so basically it is still not the lowest price of bitcoin since 2016. Maybe it will continue to fall due to some people still selling their bitcoin eventhough they losing their money. But it will be a good time to buy for whales since the price is still low.

It think you miss something about the % , the dip is only 70% down which is $6000 area, but to the dip I think we still have more dip to go like 80% down which is $4000 area and if you look at last year trend before it finally run bull $4000+ was resistance which downtrend to 2900 area and when it break the $4k area it bull run has been marvelous with little correction in just like 3-7 days and pick again so I think now is the main correction for those fast track bull to the area of $4+ my thinking though.

I guess that we are now can see that bitcoin has much time to increase back especially in this month because we see the lower price, the price now starts to increase again. right now, bitcoin price increase since the last week and I think it will like this or will increase more in this week. the price seems will stay in the $6k level price because I see that it is up until $6,6xx and it is down until $6,5xx and it happens like this in today.

The price now is starting to show some positive increase though not that as what we expected but this is a good sign i hope it will continue to rise and until the end of these year.

Of course it's very good if all the forecasts for the near future bitcoin will come true. Although looking at the current circumstances in the crypto currency market, it is very doubtful that the situation will change for the better in the near future.

When bitcoin hits low further I still am positive it can recover. Bitcoin fall further to what we expects yet I am positive that price will further show some good moves. However, it is not forever hitting low it will go up.

This year in this month we were with lowest value which was 5.8k dollar but right after that yesterday we saw a better increase in value as it rose up form 5.8k dollar to 6.5k dollar which changed the negative perceptions into positive.

People who invested in the lowest market are now in profit and they can sell anytime to make profit but if they are productive then they will wait for more increase.

Yeah that's true only time will tell where we going on this downfall but as what I've said on other thread I'm still optimistic that this will bounce back and I'm not worried of the fall because if we going to compare the price of last year before the bull run it was far from where we are now. We still have hope that we can make a good rally soon.

The current bitcoin price is 6750$. Compared with 2016, the current bitcoin price is 10 times higher. Why you set the title is the lowest since 2016. Compared to the peak in December 2017, the bitcoin price is now three times lower. But it is still high compared to previous years. So current Bitcoin will not be considered collapsed. That is just a correction before the growth in the next years

We seem to be out of the hole, and not likely to hit such low again,bitcoin is testing a new resistance level of above 6800$, breaking through may signal in the bulls.
