...CFTC the guys who have the saying, preparing for Cryptos as currencys and assets.
That's the day we are waiting for since 2007.
And again hardly anyone takes notice....

It the same time CTFC is going after tether. If they manage to find that Binance was pumping the crypto market by faking USD-USDt transactions, you'll have your good news. ;)
I believe that this whole situation with ctfc subpoenas at the time when we were in a pennant formation caused this whole crash. Another proof that BTC still depends on the news.

I am actually not surprised that it was missed though because the community does not thrive on information like this but information that talks about how bitcoin price would be zero next week would have garnered the right amount of audience and platforms would publicised it till it becomes the talk of the community. While it might not cause any major outbreak now in terms of rejuvenating the current trend it sure would boost confidence in someone mind which might be what is needed at the point of making decisions.

There are good news almost daily. But there is some rich circle that wants to see Bitcoin going down, so they can buy cheaper.

I agree. This kind of news will not be sensationalized by the media because they know the people loves fake news, so they would rather dig news that they think will make a good clickbait be on their first page rather than this kind of news. We have been buried with all the FUDs and negative news around and I hope that investors are going to read this and hope that they will make a sudden U-turn and pump the market once again and boost more confidence on other investors to re enter or even fresh blood to re ignite the ecosystem once more.

As a above user mentioned, good news continue to roll out quite often but the whales who would like to make opportunities for profiting just try to manipulate the market and make it according to their own convenience to earn bigger profits.

maybe, but i don't assume those conspiracy theories are true.

the simple explanation is that the hype and momentum died. just like it did in 2014. once the market could no longer fuel new highs, a new feedback cycle developed: selling begot selling, new bagholders were created, and the bear market crushed all media sensationalizing about price. that scares off new investors and pushes weak hands to sell.

this will probably continue until everyone has forgotten about bitcoin, or given up on it (like 2015). then it'll probably rocket to $1 mil or something.

Not all cryptos, though. Plus everyone knew that ETH was not a security. They said some ICO's might be. Obviously good news but not amazing, this is not going to move the market up that much.

I wouldn't say everyone knew ETH isn't a security. After all, it began with an ICO, and SEC spokespeople have long said that most ICOs constitute securities. I've seen many people assume it was a security based solely on that.

I wouldn't expect any effect on the market at all. It's not really even good news per se (regarding actual fundamentals). It just confirms lower regulatory requirements for some assets, which is good for traders and exchanges regarding KYC, capital requirements, disclosures, etc.

This is a good news, but yeah whales thinks different maybe we as a small investors we will hold until it reach our target price but since whales are too greedy to gain more then they will do their best to manipulate the market and make people on panic. Hope this news can help the market up again.

I'm in agreement with one of the posters above, I'm pretty confident that the CFTC is targeting tether transactions and they're not as interested in the rest of cryptos as it stands right now. They gravitate to ID'ing fraud and laundering and that's something that tether could be facilitating. If they attempt quash it now, it would make sense since that's their MO.

Well, I hope some investors who need a valid reason to console them or make their patience strong reads this article, cause many investors are just at the verge of giving up on everything that has to do with cryptocurrency just becausethey are not seeing that huge changesor high price --- But besides, this is quite a good news.

normally i'd say manipulation exists but it is not driving the market but these days i am starting to believe in it more and more to a point where i agree with what you said here.
when i look at the market and see how the price was pushed down instead of falling down naturally i become more confident in it. it always was a big dump of selling a large amount of bitcoin a couple of times to push it down and trigger the sell off and then the market does the rest and each time we are left with a big ass red candle!!!

It's a characteristic of the Bitcoin community that everything that happens must be explained by some conspiracy of bad actors out to get us all. During the bull run, Tether was the target of baseless claims. This, of course, ignored the fact that there was a massive injection of new speculative money coming in due to the increased exposure in the media. It was a repeat of what happened in 2013 when Mt. Gox was the convenient baddy to blame. All asset bubbles that are driven by a speculative frenzy of FOMO fizzle out and crash. That's when the community has to look for another fictional baddy to blame. So bring on the imaginary whales pushing the price lower so they can buy cheap.

Can we expect better understanding on cryptocurrency when even those who have the information about it is hiding the truth. Yes this is the technology revolution started by the same people who despise the corruption from the government and connivance with the financial institutions who manipulating us for hundreds of years as banks created. News nowadays are bought and not truthful that’s the problem.

You are correct. This is perfect opportunity for someone or maybe group of them or companies to buy cheap cuz this is lowest price for this year if im not mistaken.
This makes even us small ones perfect chance to get this small amount and waiting for better opportunity for it to be sold later.

I meant to say that everyone was expecting ETH not to be a security so this was just a reassurance as you said. That's why it wont move the market much. The small bounce was nice but not even close to what's needed and there was no follow up. We are probably going below 6k this weekend.

I like the way US is putting research in crypto sphere and are actually calculating a transparent, decentralized and boderless monetary system. I liked how they stressed upon cryptos giving means to people living in remote areas with little or no monetary/financial scope or support. Cryptocurrencies are not only a technical revolution but is also an economic revolution. They are banks to unbanked. They are freedom!

And in my crypto currency here are presented almost from the point of view about which you thought. Re-read it again:
"However, economic elites know all this.  They will not be idle.  This is what I mean by a powerful danger.  If the kleptocracy controls technology and the means of distribution, then they simply accumulate more wealth at the expense of their citizens, draining wealth in cryptocurrencies rather than dollars or euros.  Virtual assets may be a stranglehold.  In other words, technology can be a weapon against the work of the United Nations and others trying to alleviate poverty or violence.  Virtual assets become a means of deeper control of wealth and a means of exploitation."
I think that's why this news was ignored by the crypto-currency community.

Actually it is good news,so just hold your bitcoin. When the price increase, some of the whale use to manipulate the bitcoin price. They will sell the huge holding bitcoin and automatically the price of bitcoin is reduced. So they will get bitcoin from at low price from beginning traders.

You have said it all. This is one main reason why fundamental analysis is not even working in the market as you get to see the price not even going in direction with the whole news going on in the market and then you kept wondering who are those selling with all these positive vibe and news that is supposed to create a huge market upward movement, and this simply is just the best explanation for it.

I really hope good news usually have that much of an impact on btc price as everything is manipulated anyway, so in a way, fundamentals just do not work that much as well as TA and all you have to do is to find a way to play safe in the market. As it is, the market simply tends toward negative speculations than anything positive and if you look at the media, they simply do not even help out in any case as all they are just after is being carriers of bad news.
