Post by: stingraydiver on June 14, 2018, 08:30:03 PM
Hey fellow Bitcointalk.org community members!  I thought I would make a simple promo video for the website.  It is posted on YouTube.  Hopefully it can help grow our community.  Let me know what you think!

Simple and nice video. But I don't think that Bitcointalk need some kind of promtion now. Bitcointalk is the biggest crypto forum and we have huge community here already - over 2 million registered users (holly shit, when I checked these numbers last time, there was only 1.5 million users). Your video barely can attract more users to Bitcointalk. Your channel aren't popular and you got only 16 views, and probably 95% of people who watched your video came from Bitcointalk.

I don't think we need any promotional videos to gather a large number of communities. We have a lot of members and still, we are facing difficulty in dealing with a substantial amount of spammer every day. If you are going to persist that kind of promotion make sure that the content is all about the discussion in bitcoin and not about earning a pennies just by spamming lol. :D

I would agree with this. People that want to learn/discuss/talk about crypto will find this forum themselves. Mass advertising will only serve to bring in more spammers and shitposters who hear about bounties and want to make a quick buck.

I was hoping it was going to be like the bizarre film Trump recently showed to Kim Jong: https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2018/jun/12/the-action-movie-style-trailer-trump-says-he-played-to-kim-video

Just trying to be helpful to the community!  I haven't seen anyone else volunteer.

I never understand why people have to play annoying music in these videos.

That's really nice of you. But I agree with what's been said above even though you seem to have good intentions bitcoin talk is not really in need of advertising as people genuinely interested would already know of its existence

Thanks for the kind words.  All brands benefit from advertising.   Coca-Cola is one of the largest companies in the world and they advertise everyday!  I would say you would be hard pressed to find someone who hasn’t heard of Coke, yet they continue to advertise?  Must be something to it!  ;)

But why it say at the start 'Don't gamble with crypto'? This forum isn't against gambling, so, there is no reason for that phrase.

The idea is good but it should say more about the forum, things like the areas it has, and the different topics we can discuss here.

But is a great initiative, good job.

If a normal person doesn't know about crypto surely they would care less about that video of yours they will just think that it is another scam video that is lurking in the internet, if a person has been influenced by crypto and has already a little idea about crypto they would surely register in this forum because if you are starting in crypto the main thing that you need to do is to make social media accounts, telegram & bitcointalk account which is the main requirements for airdrops and airdrops is for those who is starting in crypto... but I really appreciate that effort of yours in making a video ... ^_^ kudos !

I don't!
Bitcointalk forum already has all the "promotion" in the world, its the biggest forum for cryptocurrency related discussions.
You should check the stats and see the average number of registrations per day,its staggering.

What bitcointalk needs actually is a reduction in spam users entry,as that's the real menace here, anyone who's into cryptocurrency definitely must have heard of bitcointalk forum
This is nice project but have a little bit critical
So you bumped this thread just to say this. ???

;D ;D You're to harsh.. but I agree with your opinion the only problem that these forum has to be solved is all about spam post and replies this is totally not useful to the forum and surely make the traffic a little more large compared to a normal busy forum with no spammers..

Yeah I also agree with that this forum has already been good ever since no need any promotional video or advertisement ... Only those person who wants to learn and contribute in this forum are welcome ... not spammers !
