Title: What do u do with your Bitcoin forks?
Post by: Bitcoin Gambling on June 16, 2018, 06:15:19 PM
For example BTG, BCD, SBTC, UBTC, B2X, BCX, BTX, LBTC, BTCP etc?

I never bought these coins, I'm sure I did the right thing. Because the forks of bitcoin are not real bitcoins. Why should I take such a risk?

This topic must be move to Bitcoin discussion or you might see a moderator will delete it. Ok, For all the bitcoin forks, that happened , I move all my bitcoins to my hardwallet which gives the control of my private key and as soon as the fork, I claim the new coins and trade them.

Claim them and sell them as soon as possible for more Bitcoin. There is no point holding any of these forks - all they do is fall in value. With the exception of one brief mega pump-and-dump of Bitcoin Trash, all these coins have only decreased from their initial value as people realise they are just a way for the creators to make some quick money.

Never claimed any of them. Probably nothing.

Asides Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Bitcoin Gold (BTG), I have never worried myself about any other forked coin since it all became more like a child's play last year. Maybe if they get to be something tangible, and since it is free money, I may just decide to get any of them, sell them and use it to increase my bitcoin position as that is what I feel they are basically good for.

I have already claimed some of this Bitcoin fork coins but I didn't had any plan to hold those so I just sold it immediately after receiving it. Like what I always say, those Bitcoin fork coins are useless including Bitcoin Cash and all of those are just created to make easy money using Bitcoin's name and I can't see any of those becoming a big thing in the future, probably a dead coins in years to come. But it is a free money so why not claim it, just be careful when sweeping or importing your private keys and always make sure to transfer your Bitcoin to a new generated Bitcoin address before doing it just for the safety your coins.

Yeah, this is really important. Most (all?) forks are just scammers trying to make some quick money by dumping their supply, but some forks are aimed at getting people to input their keys or seeds in to some phishing site so they can steal your coins.

The fork bitcoin is similar the scam, except bitcoin cash. Because all fork was created for get easy money, but BCH to be for accounting. IMHO

At the moment I hold them, I decide to hold onto whether the market goes down, I believe BTC will explode by the end of 2018 and this time is appropriate to buy in, profit BTC will bring give me a lot.

You just reminded me that I need to get caught up on the forks and claim my coins.

After last fall's craziness with btg and segwit (or lack of segwit haha), I just kind of stopped keeping track of them all.

I think the best way to treat these coins is to just hold on to them.
If you are a bounty hunter and have been doing it for a long time, you probably have a bunch of random coins sitting around.
Then out of those, one will have a bull run and pump; that is the time to sell it.

Everyone was rushing to sell of BCH after they claimed it.
For months people were saying it would go nowhere.
And then, bam! It shot past $1000 and kept on rising.

Might as well just hodl and see if any of them do the same thing, it's not like they are useful for anything anyways.

Sold them all because there is no reason to hold them all. They have no value in the future. Remember bitcoin diamond and the majority of bitcoin forks decreased a lot on its price and it can become an evidence about how worst the bitcoin fork coin is. It's should not be worthed to hold em all in your wallet. you must sell them asap

I buy only at least in a top 5 list I don't have trust to those altcoins or forks whatever you call it is just a waste of money spending them, go for the trusted altcoins already so that no regret in future.

Personally, I sold all these forks and bought other coins on them because I believe that all forks hopeless

Apparently all the forks are excellent without exception of none, but what their function in front of the original Bitcoin? Let's say more speed? However improvements do not solve the problem of demand and need, so is there any why hold the forks? Maybe yes, maybe not and in particular i sold all.

I think, there is good reason to HODL, BTG & BCD.

Do any of u think that BTG may gain traction among the anti-asic crusaders in Bitcoin ecosystem?

If I were you, I would focus only on the BTC itself. Its forks are practically useless, except for BTCP.

Whenever I heard that there will be a bitcoin fork, I do buy some amount of bitcoin in order to get the bitcoin fork. Once I get it, I sell the coin immediately because I see it as profit on the bitcoin I bought.

I don't know what's happening with BTG but is this has something to do with withdrawals that are disabled certainly for BTG only?

Other than the price, everything is fine with BTG...

I didint buy one of these forks. For me only the bitcoin is the real and strongest one because of that i am not buying and i didint buy any bitcoin fork in last 3 years. I am only holding bitcoin and sometimes i am buying some altcoins but i hate these btc hardforks.  But surely there are some people love these forks and maybe they can be right. That is only my decision.

All those coins that I receive upon participating in the bitcoin fork I exchange it on the exchange market and the money I got I buy it in more bitcoins. I don't have a good feeling about the fork coins. Because I got lucky that the mentioned above fork coins I sell it when the price is still hi, and its gone wrong and started to dump .

My position is very significant and unambiguous, because I don’t understand what it makes sense to do, I don’t see any advantages and I don’t understand why they need to accept these projects and why they are needed.

I am holding them, because I see a big potential in these coins. Just look at BCH, a year ago without any investment you could get 3k USD for free, only for holding your BTC and BCH. It is awesome and I would keep these coins.

Bitcoin forks are never separated from Bitcoin, if Bitcoin goes down all will affect its fork, I think it's very risky to have a Bitcoin fork. it's better to have Bitcoin
