Probably not. It's just a few ones that I remembered after thinking for 5 minutes.

the right title would be "how many forks of Electrum wallet are there" because there is only one Electrum wallet which is coded/developed by Thomas Voegtlin and the rest are forks of Electrum being developed by other people. most of them are legit like Electrum-ltc which is developed by the same Litecoin developers as litecoin core but there may be fake ones out there too.

- there is no "Electrum Bitcoin Cash" there was some drama about the name so they changed it to Electron.
use the following at your own risk, i have not used nor tested any
- Doge: https://github.com/electrumalt/electrum-doge (looks dead)
- STRAT https://github.com/stratisproject/electrum-stratis
- MYR https://github.com/cryptapus/electrum-myr or https://github.com/wozz/electrum-myr ?
- NAV https://github.com/sherlockcoin/Electrum-NavCoin
- VTC https://electrum.vertcoin.org/

JollyGood it would be good to change "Electrum Bitcoin Cash"  to ElectronCash, with a note this is Electrum fork for BitcoinCash. There are still many fake wallets out there, any doubt must be removed so that potential users can only get legitimate programs.

I use Electrum for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash, and ElectronCash for BCH, and I think this is still best option for desktop wallet and even to be used with hardware wallets like Ledger Nano S. Two things which should be emphasized for using these wallets, all of them can be used on same PC without any problems and before using seed from Electrum BTC for reason to claim any other coin make sure to move your BTC in new wallet for security reasons.

Thanks for that, yes the Electrum Bitcoin Cash wallet is called Electron Cash. I think other forks (Bitcoin Gold is one of them) that might have some problems installing when using more than one fork on the same server because the "cd electrum" command is used instead of "cd bitcoin gold".

I am trying to get a full list to Electrum forks to see what is actually out there because using Electrum is easier than downloading full blocks taking up GBs of data on PCs and servers.

So of the ones listed about (including Verge XVG) are using python 2 and are old scripts, would they be safe using on PCs and servers?

Can you provide the link to Github of the list in the OP and include the quoted parts of the shared list of forks by others?
Because this could be a good reference for users who're looking for 3rd-party wallets that support Bitcoin Forks and Altcoins.

People fancy a nicely formatted thread  ;)

I will wait for more posts here mentioning which Electrum forks are out there then will try to compile them in a nicely formatted thread, thanks  ;)

Some of them I never heard of.

Probably because, after the first shitforks have been published, all the hype vanished.
Each shitfork afterwards got less and less interesting.

You should definitely be careful if you deicde to claim your forkcoins. Most forks are scams.
They either try to convince you to disclose your private keys or to download their wallets (which may contain malware). Even open source ones can contain malware if there is noone who inspects it.

Got it bob123 thank you for that. Some on Git have not been updated for several years! It is like you said they forked with hype and when nobody took notice they left it to sit idle.

Is this the complete list?
At least of the most poplular ones. Anyone can fork Electrum and make a custom wallet for their coin. So the list will probably never be complete (unless you start hunting every fork there is). I wouldn't bother with it. Those are most likely the only ones which coins have any value.

For example, after a quick scroll on Electrum's repo fork list, I've found:

electrum-pivx
electrum-drk
electrum-stratis
electrum-bca
electrum-smart

And we can't even know which ones are legit or just a fake malware-wallet.

I have never bothered with any of these aftermarket Electrum forks (except Electron Cash) due to the fear of viruses and malware.

If you are pretty technical with computers you can download a program called Bitcoin Fork Claimer, its some python script that you can even run offline and you manually create a raw transaction you can later on broadcast to the network.

This way you don't need to worry about some fork being a scam and getting all your unclaimed coins stolen.

Yes there have been cases of what seemed to be genuine forks on github but later revealed to be fake, full of malware which stole crypto.

People need to be very careful about what software they download

1,792 Fork (https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/network/members) we can saw many list are forked

those forks are not all new projects, they are basically other contributing developers who "copy" the code to edit it in their own fork then make a pull request on original repository. for example if you wanted to add something to Electrum, fix a bug,... you "fork" it first to create a copy, then do the changes and then open a pull request for merging the changes into original project.
for example one of those forks belongs to me, when i wanted to fix a bug with base58 decoding of private key during import.

Yes the number includes modifications to repos.

The real number of specific coin electrum wallet versions are far, far less.
