Title: Another bitcoin miner manufacturer
Post by: bitinterest on February 04, 2014, 04:23:12 PM
Hello,

I am with a team that wants to produce bitcoin mining rigs. It seems people are eager to buy mining equipment, but we'd like to know what size rigs we should make. We estimate that it will take at least a month for the first rigs to come out for sale.

I would like to hear your opinions on the amount of Gh/s you want from the machine you'd buy. Also, would you care to tell me the price you are willing to pay for it? :)

Thank you for all responses.

Will you be making bitcoin rigs using your own design chips, or just buy chips from someone?

We would buy 25Gh/s chips and assemble them on our rig.

willing to pay $30.000 for 15TH power delivered in next 45 days!
I don't care about power consumption and I'm located in Europe.
also I am dead serious about this offer.

Hi, thank you for your interest and your offer. I'm afraid the chips cost us almost $90 each and we can assume a power of 28 Gh/s per chip. So only the chips would cost us over $48 000. This is not including the cost of other hardware, production and logistics.

We can provide big rigs for $8 per Gh/s. Or perhaps for less for first customers to get things rolling.

I have black arrow prospero x3 order number 23 and back then when I placed my order price was $4.000. so that was my reference for placing this offer to you. sorry.
also $8/gh is little to much.

I can buy much less than $8gh/s now.  So why would I want to buy for more than $8gh/s in the future?

I don't know about $8/Ghs, but if you are in the US and can ship in the next 30 days,
you can probably sell them for $5-$6/Ghs.  That would be a $5000 1TH rig.
But if you can't ship for 60 days or more, all bets are off.  You might as well plan on making 5-7 TH miners at $2.50/Ghs

If you haven't purchased the chips yet, I'd recommend for you to not to. Right now AntMiner S1's are available for less then $6.25/GH.

So unless you can produce them for $4.50/GH by the time you can release them, it won't sell.

BitFury chips (ordered in December) were $5 per 2.5 Gh/s chip and deliverable in the next two weeks.

What kind of break-even times are you looking for in your rigs?

Or you could rent the machines you build like the cloud hashers do... possibly.

Sorry I am guessing that is not possible.

You will have to pre-order your miners and wait for them to arrive....

PS: I am just trying to be funny here :)

If you are starting at $8 per GH

Can provide no power profile.

Are looking at delivery at the end of February.

You should fold you tent now

Like a lot of us......your late to the party with no real product advantage.

Too much risk too little return unless you can get it under $6 immediately
