Title: Bitcoin Digest
Post by: barbarousrelic on September 20, 2011, 07:46:24 PM
I used to read these boards religiously. I recently got a new job that doesn't allow me as much time to keep up with the world of Bitcoin, but I still want to know what's going on. Is there a place I can go, perhaps once a week, to read a summary of what has gone on in these forums and what is new in the world of Bitcoin?

Good question. I would also like a website that filters all important announcements. Something like:

- Bit-pay got a new thing going with mobile devices and physical payments
- Bitcoinica has grown a lot and people are now shorting bitcoins with 5x leverage
- The price rose once again to the $6 mark
- A chain-restaurant in the US was supposed to begin accepting bitcoins this weeked, but nothing happened

reddit is not bad, but there are many questions there. If you want a weekly round up, you will  have to go through lots of stuff.

The Coinbase podcast series might be useful to you.  http://www.agoristradio.com (http://www.agoristradio.com)

Additionally, the @BitcoinNews Twitter feed:  http://twitter.com/bitcoinnews (http://twitter.com/bitcoinnews)

Or for a little bigger firehose of bitcoin news, the Twitter list: http://twitter.com/#!/bitcoinnews/bitcoin (http://twitter.com/#!/bitcoinnews/bitcoin)

I couldn't agree more .  I want something sent to my e-mail inbox that is clean and filters out the noise!

A daily email containing just the few posts for the day is available for BitcoinNews.com from:

This looks exactly like what I'd like to see (with links). What are new places to spend Bitcoin, what turned out to be a scam, etc.

http://btclog.com isn't a bad place to check out.  We can start doing the week in review if you like,  great idea!  Anyone want to help with that?  I can set you up as an official contributor and send Bitcoin your way.  As it stands we award 1BTC per day to the member with the best original post.

What exactly is btclog? I don't see any information about the website prior to my registration, which means that I won't register :P

+1 I just went there and I have to sign up before I can even look at the site?  That means I won't be going to that site.
