Nigeria just won their game against Iceland and with Argentina loosing to Croatia with a big margin, they have a real chance of qualifying from the group stage. Senegal has also been impressive.
I agree most African teams don't do well in the tournaments. It might be due to the lesser quality of the African league compared to the ones played in Europe and America.
