Title: [WTS] Bitcoins in person in LAS VEGAS, NV
Post by: luv2drnkbr on February 05, 2014, 02:07:15 AM
I'm looking to sell $500-$5000 worth of bitcoins for USD cash in person in Las Vegas.

We will meet in public location with wifi, preferably a casino or Starbucks or similar -- poker rooms at Strip casinos have worked well in the past.

PM me or post here.  PM preferable.  PGP key 0xAF84D06EF4F99671. Communicating with PGP is highly recommended.

Price is 3% above bitstamp last at time of trade. Willing to do multisig or key multiplication for escrow.

If you wish to escrow, I am willing to use a multi-sig address which I will fund with the full amount but you must also partially fund, in bitcoin, so you have economic incentive not to screw me, nor I you. (In other words, if the deal goes south, we both lose because we have both funded the multisig.) If you wish to use a 2-of-2 multisig, or key multiplication, let me know. I will fund it myself first with a very tiny amount, then you will do so, and so forth until we have both funded it to some arbitrary amount, and then I will fund the rest to cover the amount of the trade. For example, if you want to buy say 5 bitcoins from me, we'd communicate and make a multisig, I'd fund it with 0.2btc or some other arbitrarily small amount, then you'd send 0.2 for it, then I'd send 0.2 again until we both had put in say 1.6btc, some not insignificant fraction of the total trade amount. Then I would put in the other 3.4 bitcoins, so the address would have a total of 6.6 in it, 1.6 from you and 5 from me. Then I give you the private key for the multisig after you give me the money. I have no incentive to screw you over because I can't get that 5 btc back, so I might as well go through with the trade legitimately. You can't screw me over, because I don't give you the private key until after you give me the USD, so if you try to scam me, I simply don't give you the private key and you're out 1.6. By doing things in this manner, we both lose if we try to scam the other.

So we will have both funded the address prior to our meeting, then at the meeting I will then bring the private key for my part of the multisig with me, and when I have the USD cash I will give it to you, and I will be happy to wait with you while the transaction is being created, and I will wait with you as well until it gets two confirmations.

I am also willing to bring my laptop and do the multisig work myself, however if you are going to trust me with that, it would be far simpler to simply trust me to send you the bitcoins with no escrow.

That type of "mutually assured destruction" with multisig/key-multiplication is the only option that I will use for escrowing the bitcoins.  If that is not acceptable, don't trade with me!

If you are still reading and willing to do a trade with me, we will meet in person, you will hand me the USD, I will count it and verify it is the correct amount, I will place it on the table in sight but out of arm's reach from you, I will then use my phone to transfer you the bitcoins, and as soon as the transaction shows up on your computer, I will place the USD in my pocket, and then I will hang around with you and wait for the transaction to get two confirmations.

If the transaction does not go through after some arbitrarily long amount of time and you don't want to keep waiting, you can trust that it will go through and we can part ways, or if you like, I can get my laptop out and attempt to double-spend it, and when my double spend is confirmed I will give you the USD cash back.

For the meeting place, I recommend the Venetian poker room or the Aria poker room. Both places will have empty poker tables where we can sit, both have reasonably wide open areas so it is nice and public, and both have free wifi with a strong signal in the poker room area. However, I am open to other places.

I will not meet you at your home or any non-public place.

These terms are not negotiable. They protect both of us.
