Keep the marketing posts for altcoins where they belong in my opinion.

I think you're right. I did this spontaneously. But still NEM is better ;)

This coin ISN'T EVEN LIVE YET and it is already valued at 400 Sats? I am sorry, I love the look and ideas behind the coin but that is just crazy in my opinion.

Fair distribution is just the latest faze that will die out soon. NXT is killing thanks to the stake holders! I would've had it any other way.

NxT used to be $110 million until the public learned about the distribution and then it went down to $20 million by April, only recently went back up and that's temporary since it was all John's hype (he's gone now, right?) and the asset exchange (NEMstake is the #1 asset and it'll disappear when NEM goes live).

It's not a FAD.  There's a difference between 3000 stakeholders and 7 billion.  As per Aurora, you can't give out something to everybody or it's worthless.  In NEM's case - having 3000 stakeholders was intended to prevent whales and nepotism (like in NxT's case, 10 out of the 20 whales might all know each other in real life or be socks of each other.   People claim there can be socks in NEM but you need 160 sockpuppets to match the power of one NxT whale, so I'ld say the big distribution took care of that problem.  Nobody created 160 socks back in January when NEM was a worthless fork).

But don;t you feel the stakes are overvalued?

probably and that's why I have just dipped in a bit but it is remarkable that they already have solid group of developers and a solid community at this point.

Look at NEM total supply, 4 billion coins, Master has 500,000, you are not comparing apples to apples here. Sorry I will wait a bit longer for a coin that is still in development and thinks it is worth 400 Sats each.

That's not how math work.  Price of an individual unit and supply is irrelevant (unless it's inflationary like Doge).  Only capitalization and volume is what matters.

NEM has a good PR campaign going on within BTCtalk, it will be the real BTCtalk coin. A lot of people got PMs from nem PR guys to join the NEM movement and invest and also say positive things about the coin.

So take all comments with a pinch of salt.

+ 1000 BTCtalk veteran but somehow I was missed initially. I was on vacation with my bitcoin in January though. +1 on don't take comments at face value, you want to do your own research to survive the alt coin maze.

you know a lot of us are getting seriously sick and tired of you NEM and NXT guys hammering
the living shit out of this forum with blatant advertisements for these crappy ass coins.

both are garbage shit coins with premine ipo's or whatever.. scammy ass bullshit
that can't go anywhere unless you hype your ponzi scheme non stop.
if you can't mine the coin the only thing you can do is "Ripple" it up
so i'm just gonna call NXT Ripple v2 and NEM Ripple v3

try investing in a fair coin and then you won't be stuck being shameless irritating greedy little shills guys..

Thank you for your competent opinion. ;D

Calling 100% Proof of Stake systems "premined" is very clever indeed... not.

I think itīs quit the opposite.

distribution is nice
alpha is nice
dev team is nice
--> future will be nice

So who wants to wait until this great coin hits the exchanges? Then you have to buy the stakes for a 10 times higher price. The guys know this, thatīs why the price is rising. The early bird gets the worm.

First it is premined, and you are blind if you dont see it in blockchain. Not even stupid, just blind.

Second, lets analyze those "features" so you tell me what they are worth:

Asset Exchange - basically an extremely slow stock exchange with no oversight so almost 90% of listings are pure scam and even Nxt Ambassador's share is still listed even though he stole 200 btc from fellow nxter. Overall, nothing new, bitcoin exchanges have existed almost since beginning of bitcoin but this time its different that when you get screwed (probably only NEM stake is currenly not scam over there) you get noone to complain about and that stock still gets to be listed there (as seen in John's example).

Multigateway - basically a currency exchange but with same twist as asset exchange that when wallets get hacked there is noone to complain about because its not owned by anyone and nobody guarantees for anything. Also nothing new since we have tons of currency exchanges already.

Automated Transactions - this could be a good thing, but IMO will be too complicated for average Joe.

Digital Goods Store - same as with asset exchange and currency exchange but this time for sale of digital goods. So again not protected from scam in any way and noone guarantees for anything and scams will stay listed and continue scamming. Again nothing new since there is at least 30,000 stores online that already accept crypto currencies but guess what, they guarantee you with their product.

Monetary System - make a shitcoin within a shitcoin! Yea thats exactly what we need, more shit coins around but this time within another shitcoin. Again, nothing new as there is already tons of shitcoins and even ready made programs that will make you one.

So....what were you blabbering about?

Hi atoni,

sorry, you're wrong, a PoS genesis block is not "premined" but generated. Calling it premined makes no sense at all -- the used word is a complete misnomer.

Generated means premined, what you probably mean is that it was not instamined.

No, you're using a misnomer here. There is no mining in PoS hence referring to the term "premine" is logically wrong.

I know what you meant though!

Ok I see what you mean, but its obvious what premine word stands for in this example.
