Title: Dogechain : Not Redeemed yet : What does it mean?
Post by: AceCobra1 on February 05, 2014, 12:57:54 PM
I sent 10k coins 2 days ago to an account. The coins have left my wallet. The guy has got the coins in his wallet but it is still unconfirmed...

http://dogechain.info/tx/2db1abfdf61198e9e594fcf9292d0d7a696ee10a296279dbe61cbbaddf7efba3

There is 2313 confirmations which I think is a bit odd... Here are the details:

Status: 2313 confirmations
Date: 04/02/2014 06:14
To: 210371 DQXHCkaKpLbKkCGdPkuB6iMiLZE4m22GPm
Debit: -10000.00 DOGE
Net amount: -10000.00 DOGE
Transaction ID: 2db1abfdf61198e9e594fcf9292d0d7a696ee10a296279dbe61cbbaddf7efba3

Any ideas when the coins will be confirmed on his end? The transaction is fully confirmed at my end

Apparently its a dogecoin android wallet - think he has left it on for a long time but still unconfirmed. Any ideas if he can backup his wallet on his android phone or transferring that wallet onto a computer?

Hi.  I am the one having the problem Acecobra is referring to  :-\.  It is not an android wallet, it is on a macbook pro.  It is a recent download v1.5.0.0 so it is the latest.  It has been 2 days now with 3 syncs (on opening) and the transaction is still unconfirmed.  I have just downloaded a wallet on a PC which is currently syncing so I dont know if that will make a difference but for now the DC's are in the ether.  Would isp firewall restrict? Any input welcomed  ???

FI, I don't have hi tech equipment just basic mac and pc laptop.

Cheers!

I'm thinking his wallet is not syncing correctly.  He may need to install the most recent client for this transaction to show.

Most times when I have this issue, it is because I need to download the most recent version of the wallet.

Hi.

Try to reset block chain.

(android) Dogewallet -> options -> reset block chain

it will take a while after that everything should be ok.

Tx looks ok. Try this and tell me does it help.

Reseting blockchain might take about an hour.

I had the same thing happen when I send DOGE to Crypsty. It said "not redeemed" for 24 hours, and then finally they did put them through for me. It's on the receiver's end.

like I say. I had this problem  few times with Doge and always reseting block chain was an answer for my problem.
:)

If someone want to ask "is it safe to reset blockchain... my Doges can vanish?"

I will answer: "it is fully safe. You can reset blockchain anytime you want if you want.
There is desription to reset block chain, that says that if your Doges were sent  to you but do not appear on your wallet you should reset blockchain.

Just remember to keep same wallet in your app.

Try reseting.

Cheers!

Thanks guys - out of interest, if the coins remains unredeemed, is it possible for the sender to retrieve it ?

Ok to explain and please note that I am NOT using android, I downloaded the android DC app but have done nothing with it yet.

Mac

I am a mac user and downloaded my first wallet on my mac.
I was sent 10k of BC this has been received in the wallet but remains unconfirmed (in the mac wallet) and Acecobra1 has received over 4000 confirmations of this.
Looking at the mac wallet I can see no where possible to update or reset the block chain, in fact there is no 'options' option in the program and under the settings there is just 'Encrpyt Wallet' & 'Change Passphrase' , so not a lot of choice.  I have searched online for an answer but drawn a blank.

PC

I have now downloaded a wallet onto my PC, this is still sync'ing with network (its a dinosaur) and has 12 days left, so nearly there.

The mission

Clearly the wallet on the mac is not working.  So once my PC wallet has synced can I send the unconfirmed BCs to my PC wallet.  I say send because when I created a wallet on my PC it has been given a different address....is this correct??  I have been told that I should be able to have the same address on every device.

Android (untouched so far)

Relevant to the point above about addresses, should I be able to have the same first address created on my mac on the android device also???

.......or all three are different wallets and will therefore have different addresses and I need to send between them???

.......or do we need to do the whole transaction over again?

Thanks for any input   :-\

To add to the previous post.

In the DOGECOIN-qt menu there is 'preferences'

in preferences there are 3 sections

Main - this has 'optional transaction fee', 'start DC on login' and 'reset options'

Network - 'port' & 'proxy boxes'

Display - 'User interface language' and 'units to display'

Are any of these relevant.

Thanks!

It means the receiving wallet is not fully synched for any one of a variety of reasons including a possible bad address.

The receiving wallet needs to run the -rescan option or update to the newest client or maybe just even restart the wallet.

~BCX~

Hi, Thanks.

Forgive me I am a total novice at this and this is my first foray into cryptocurrency so a lot of this goes over my head....but I'm learning ;D (hopefully).

I have shut the wallet down several times and reopened but no change.  Is that what you meant by 'restart the wallet'

As mentioned i'm on a mac and can't see a rescan option anywhere, options a very limited.

I get a feeling that i'm on a back foot anyway being on a mac with this and should wait for the PC wallet to sync.

back to the question I asked about addresses, if you create multiple wallet across different platforms will they all have different address of they can have a common address?
