Believe it or Not. the Whole ICO stuff looks scandalous this days. New investors can easily fall into this trap if they fail to make proper investigation before investing into new ICOs. Can you imagine that rating sites today do contact ICO owners and ask for a certain amount of fee for a high grade and rating on their site.

I suggest you refer to icodrops, because icodrops are objective.

i have not trusted icobench for a long time. there were too many, bad rumors.

It doesn't surprise me. I guess it's the same thing when we see top profile people promoting ICOs, like John McAfee or other well known individuals. Of course that I understand that a rating site should be impartial and more trustworthy, but if you think about it, when John McAfee gets paid to promote a ICO, he is actually "lying" and has no concern over his reputation, because he knows nothing real bad will happen for him. Rating sites don't really care as well, and they are not entities, so they just say whatever they want. They all know ICOs are risky, so it's hard for someone to blame them when things go wrong in the end, so it's hard to prove that their rate was not legit.

I do not think that you need to rely on these sites, but in order to fully form an analysis, I would use this data, it is likely that these estimates are also bought, but so far there have been no cases when people would publish such data.

I haven't open this web site, the site of the score made me feel nausea, some of the fraud of the ICO project can still get a high score on the site, and most of the celebrity's score is just for the sake of the interest relationship.

Great report thanks for sharing it as well :) I never bothered to look at the ratings, better just research what one can to get an overview of the project of interest. There are many other sites but I would not trust any of them or at least not regard that number as strong information!

You can only trust yourself in crypto, but these sites are not bad themselves. The scores are not worth much but at least they give a hint on legitimacy.

Before I used to rely on ICOBench to check on what ICO to join. There were times that their review influenced my investment decision. But over time I realized that some of the ICOs that they gave raved reviews actually did badly after the ICO. I think ICO rating sites could be used to check on the info of the ICO but should not be your only basis for investment decisions. It is still important to do more research when joining cryptos.

In my opinion, do not be too confident with ICO rating sites. These sites are the only sources of information on ICO reviews, but do not serve as a basis for decision-making to participate. A detailed examination is needed to determine good decisions for ICO investments.

I totally agree with you that most ICO rating sites are sponsored. However, I use ICO sites to actually know about new projects and check their sites out. Otherwise, I wouldn't know if not for the ICO rating sites.

Everyone who is following ICO should take care and caution to make personal research. This is a general advice for all investors. Research before investment.

I personally research for ICOs and see it reviews on many such sites but I guess that reviews from multiple websites is still better than relying on just one.
People should analyse and make research by obtaining information from multiple resources in order to check whether the information provided is actually genuine or not.

Icobench is good, but I think it is more working on paid rates, though it is still good portal. But recently I am more looking at www.icoguide.com rates, as they seems to be real, not paid. The platform is new and it tries to be fair.

In my opinion, I do not believe in those indicators, because there is no way to completely trust them, maybe the ICO project they have spent to get the beautiful numbers. These are the inner underground negatives that we hardly know.

I have a lot to read about these ico support and much more ico as most investors do. They need to make sure their money is on their ico plus scam and losses when the ico loses support to the investors so it's a waste of time for a project to be unsucessful.

I think these ICO rating sites are really helping to locate new ICOs which are profitable. I think the best thing is that we should not totally depend on these sites but to use them as guides. It will be very helpful to use other means to access ICOs aside their ratings.

Best thing to do is to look around multiple sources and try to build your own opinion. Review sites are only good for quick browsing and should not be used as a real gauge of the quality of a project

I advise one not to trsut ico bench as they get paid for promoting icos and they can be biased and often they provide incomplete information. There are other websites out there which are providing ICO advice and not taking any money.

Maybe it could be used as a reference but do not rely on crunches rating like that. they are just judging based on what they see without studying what they will value. better analyze yourself and if there might be a doubt could rely on the ratings given to the ICO for reference only for it to be a little bit convincing.

No don't trust them because they also can be get by paying money to the sites so which is also a fake rating.If we want to invest in an ICO then we need to know what is that project about and this project have good potential in the future or not.And then don't invest more money than you can afford to lose these are the things you need to follow while investing in any ICOs not the ratings by someone who don't do this without any profits to them.

I do my diligent research in choosing the right ICO regardless of any ICOs rating sites,  good Ratings from those site does not necessarily mean that the ICO is going to successful because I always frowned at the criteria used by these raters in coming to conclusion on those ratings.

Judging by the attached article, it does seems to me the writer is watering down on other ICO rating sites so as to promote their own. This is not an independent assessment so it is not a good premises to debunk to rating of other sites.

Agree, new platforms are more motivated to attract attention of investors so they try to have fair rates. I like the rates of icoguide very much, when I make my own research and compare it to their rates the impression is the same. So I can say that scores are trustworthy.

As for me, I don't trust those sites rating ICOs anymore especially ICO Bench. Most of the coins that have turned out problematic to me were rated high on ICO Bench. The best thing I do now is to conduct a background research, investigate into nice projects and invest my money.

I have never used these sites, because I believe that they sell good ratings. All these "premium" ICOs simply paid for being in the top. And this has nothing to do with the quality of their product.

it is better to not blindly trust these websites since reviews can be bought too to fool people. On the plus side, there are a lot of ill news regarding ICO bench and they are notorious for their news not being legit. It is better to not reply solely on the ratings.

As a matter of fact, i do not trust ICOBench that much There some occasions when ICOs that rated high on their sites still failed. There some strategies i employ before investing into any of these ICOs and they worked for me. First, i try to check other sites where the ICO is listed. At least to an extent, i trust icodrop. Secondly, i ensure that i do my own findings before investing. Although, evaluations from others will also lessen my work.

I never fully trusted them but I rely on some of the ratings of people there which makes sense. We just need to connect the dots for us to better understand what we are going for. But it's always better to do our own research.

Icobench has long lost its trust. As far as I know, there was information on the forum that a lot of advisors on this resource are taking money from the ICO projects for putting a positive evaluation.

These ratings are nonsense! You can check the team for honesty, you can check different things, but this will not do much ... The most important thing is that HYIP is around the project!

Based on the appended article, it does appears me the author is diluting on other ICO rating locales in order to advance their own. This isn't a free evaluation so it's anything but a decent premises to expose to rating of different locales.

Usually when I am considering my investment criteria I don't really follow the opinion of ICO sites because I don't find it reliable enough. I usually do my own research about the project and analyze every aspect of it before I make my decision. I also consider the opinion of top crypto analyst like Gobone and Ian Balina before I finally conclude on investing in the project.

Every newbie to ICO investing should read this article. It is quite natural that there is a "secondary market" for reviews and ratings and I wouldn't be disappointed if a particular site (say ICObench) clearly stated that a rating can be bought or influenced by money. None of ICO review sites I know does it. >:(

I never trusted this site (ICOBench). as for me the ratings of this site do not meet the real ICO rating .. even the scam on this site has a very high rating. the owners of this site do not disassemble in the companies , or receive money for overrating the  company...

And don't use only 1 ICO Rating sites, you must critical to check them why some ICO rating sites only give xxx score and why some other ICO rating sites give so high score.

80-90% of projects from that site should probably to be legit . But always there can be mistakes and you could get scammed because you trusted icobench. I'd recommend you to do your own research ( team , previous projects etc)

Well I use icobench and some other ico rating platforms to do part of my research when I want to invest my money or time. But I don't see them as fool proof. Even the highly rated icos can fail or even scam. Just do additional analysis.

I suggest you to still do analyse by reading an ICO whitepaper before invest.

Actually we may consider the results on any ICO rating sites but the fact that it won't determine the real outcome of the project or it is just speculations made by the majority, we should not rely that much when choosing an ICO to invest or participate with. As an investor, you should make your own assumption because it would be your money to be invested so the decision would still be depending to the investor himself.

I agree, it is better not to trust this site for choosing an Ico to joined. Usually they ask for fees better to do such investigation first before judging any Ico. We have to be observant first this is for our own good to avoid scam.

Thanks for bringing up this topic OP! I also agree that most ICO sites are mostly paid of the ICO teams to get a high ranking and the project itself is not rated as such. I recommend to use these platform only as an overview and don't take there ratings too serious.

Yes if the ratings are real, but I doubt this. There are so much shady marketing campaigns recently...

Right from the time I join crypto space, I don't use to believe ICO rating sites unless i have done my own research and believe in their rating, most of their expertise solicits money for them to give a good review, so it is good everyone do their own research and compare with theirs

Do not trust ratings, they are always deceptive.
Rating is from the quality of filling in the profile on the site

If some ico have enough money, then most likely this ico could buy any rating if required. So when you're making an investment based on rating, you need to do an additional research.
