Bitcoin prices have increased due to the fact that the state of New York approved a BitLicense for the Square’s Cash App that can now be used for Crypto Trading. The Square Cash App has approximately 7 Million monthly active users, as reported by Square Inc.

this sounds pretty interesting and i believe this can be considered as a legit good news but this was one of the most disappointing rises of all times. price is pretty much the same as it was before. a rise would mean going back to $7k levels and staying there which has not yet happened.

in any case this Sqare Cash thing seems like a good adoption case which can help many start accepting bitcoin payments and send bitcoin to others as payment. it may not have exploded the market as we hoped for but in the long run i am sure it will contribute a lot to the adoption and the price rise.

I don't think that the price jumped but this is some good news. It's nothing major right now but it's just one more small step in the right direction and it reminds people bitcoin is still very relevant. While many may have stopped and backed away with this dip you can be sure that the more savvy people and corporations are continuing to look in to bitcoin and are preparing for the future.

Square Inc. is a very promising company, on my radar for some time now . The stock price is in a strong uptrend since early 2017, with a +/- 400 % return since then.
With this license they will attract more users interested in crypto. Less then 10% of the people living in the USA (Square's market) are invested in Crypto, so there is a lot of room for growth there. Both Square Inc as Bitcoin price will profit from this in the long run in my opinion. One step forward to mass adoption....

It's funny how we're now referring to a $100 increase as a "price jump" now. Whereas if this would be months ago then we wouldn't even notice the $100 increase.

Anyway though, Square is a huge huge deal. People already use Square, both bitcoiners and non-bitcoiners. So bitcoin being available on Square, makes purchasing of bitcoin less tedious as people wouldn't need to register on another platform like Coinbase.

Also, Like BrewMaster said, this might be the news that would slightly pull the price higher. Though people shouldn't expect this to occur in a snap of a finger. It will take time.

I just checked on cmc to see the current price of bitcoin after seeing the title of this thread but it is still in $6708. I mean this price jump title is miss leading except OP means in the future, then an editing of the title will be fine.

Meanwhile, the news of the app trader is good for the market and it will help crypto price not only btc because is not only btc is traded. It is paired in cryptocurrencies.

Probably one of those scenarios that seem to be a big news but tends to deliver nothing on the current price. Personally, I think Square gaining its bitlicense is a big news albeit the slump of a reaction the market expressed. Effects aren't really seen or observed overnight but rather on a long term. This move will benefit traders and non-traders that wants to acquire bitcoin and uses Square cash at the same time. No big jumps for now but once people got the hang of it, gradually over time, people will see that this is indeed a positive news and something to be celebrated.

if you hear that news is an application that is in the state of new york square "s that looks very good and that moves around 8,000 million dollars and is legalized and will accept as 5 cryptocurrencies apart from the bitcoin this will trigger the prices and the bitcoin use in new york is going to make impreterable I hope to go to that city and try that application

I noticed too that the price today are increased a bit, But this is really a great news I hoped it will lead bitcoin to increase more than a little percent :D But I know sooner the price will going to be fine again and I hope the green market will started also soon.

Sadly this goes to another click bait tittle, good job OP! Anyways I don't see any huge increase within prices as bitcoin is doing within these prices like for a while now. It could mean maybe tommorow for price increase but honestly this doesn't give me any reason. As honestly first time I hear about square and NY, remember USA is not the only country that has crypto lovers, neither is the NYC the only city out there with people who have crypto.

I wouldn't say that the price has spiked up but would rather say that the price has recovered from the recent price fall due to the hack of the exchange.
The price is now pretty much the same as 2 days ago. We could have called it a spike if the price would have increased by a $1000 .
The news is good though since it might lead many investors to invest more into BTC. These kind of positive news is much needed in the market right now.

this is obviously being held down now after so much good news lately anyway ...... although when they are ready to let it rise and push it up that will be a nice little ride waiting to happen.

this is great news, we know New York is the center of one of the major cities in the United States. this will have a huge impact, with this news will provoke bitcoin market turmoil for the better.  ;)

I just saw this development and it is a very promising one. However, i have only noticed a little rise in the price of Bitcoin and not a jump. I am hopeful that we will see more impact of this news as more people hear of the it.

I think the other thing that also pumped the price a little was the announcement that Tether can prove that every Tether are

unless there is a 10%+ rise that then remains. there is no 'jump'
1-10% movements daily/weekly are normal.

i think the op needs to expand his chart away from the hourly /daily view where 1-3% movements look massive on display. and instead take a look at the monthly price to notice any drastic out of place movements in more of a wider landscape.

and if more drastic movements beyoond the norm occur then find the news worthy reason for why the price might have actual underlying value reasons a price should increase and stay at a new LOW. rather than social drama/adoption that comes and goes frequently

This is good news and I am happy to see some green happening after several days but streamlining all of the green that we have seen to this singular news will be an overreaching, overbearing reducing how the growth of bitcoin in its entirely. The green being witnessed has been happening in a graduated way since the past two days and alot I am just seeing this news now which means a whole lot of people might also just be seeing it without the news having any bearing on their trading and investment decisions.

Reading the entire article, I can conclude that the article is neither about bitcoin, or about the license neither did it talk about the rules and regulations that it is expected to comply with but more of self glorification on how the company has been able to soar in share price and becoming stronger with this new license that it has acquired. The sum of it is concluding that its license increase the price of bitcoin forgetting that its the 7th company such license to have been issued.

in short tether is still schemy and scammy but goes all out to throw hundreds of different documents at a law firm to look innocent but not show 1 single piece of paper with a bank balance into the open transparent public arena called the internet

If bitthumb didn't get hacked this news would have pumped bitcoin to well over $7000 but i guess on the bright side it has lessened the blow. A huge exchange getting hacked could have dumped it even more. This news kind of keeps the price stable for now

No kidding huh? Hard to believe a crypto with that much dominance and presence in the field, can't submit an audit. It seems highly shady to me and because of that I haven't used them as a reserve currency despite the fact they are "stable". If you are so stable, show your hand please.

As I noticed good news about crypto do not bring new pumps anymore, the society reacts calmly, so I also doubt that it is going to be like pump pump, brobably bitcoin will come back to 7000$ and will freeze on this price for some time again.

Okay, this certainly sounds like good news, but I don't see the price jumping up. On coinmarketcap the 24h change is 0.54% which is really nothing. The price is still extremely low, but if there were more pieces of news like that, perhaps people would start to invest in bitcoin more. I can see there's some change in the usage of bitcoin. Today my friend was buying a keyboard online and there was an option to pay in the online shop by using bitcoin as well as debit cards. We need real use cases for the market to truly recover.

Actually I do not agree with such statement. I don't surmise that the cost bounced however this is some uplifting news. It's nothing real right presently except for its only one all the more little positive development and it reminds individuals’ bitcoin is still extremely applicable. But the news is really a good indicator for bitcoin investors.

I have not felt the bitcoin price spike from the news you share and it seems that bitcoin price movements are no longer influenced by the news circulating because investors and bitcoin holders are already smart to make decisions on market crypto.
