Title: Cryptsy - possible phishing site
Post by: btcmania on February 06, 2014, 08:54:31 AM
As I type this, Cryptsy is down yet again with a 502 Bad Gateway error.

While trying to access the site I was taken to a Snapdo search page which I guess is something I installed at some point bundled into some other software.

One of the links was this:

http://www.cryptsy.com.co/

You'll notice the .co extension. It appears that this site is hosted out of France.

Is cryptsy.com.co a phishing site? We all know cryptsy.com is the legit site.

As much as I dislike Cryptsy's QoS, I also would dislike to hear about someone being scammed. Since none of the features that one could safely test on this page (forgot password link for example) actually work, I'm going to suggest it is a scam site and to avoid it.

Yeah there are a few sites that mask as the real site of course and I think I have seen one or 2 that have actually fooled people into using the user name and pass into the site....

Thanks for the heads up.

I usually search for crypsy on Google when I am at work because we can't save links on our computers. I will make doubly sure that I am going to the correct website.
