Merit abuse? Or not? Post by: mdayonliner on June 22, 2018, 08:16:47 AM Seems like something fishy is going on however who knows? If you ask them question then they will come up with any of the below excuses...
By the way thanks for the good work. While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with. Do not beg for merit excessively. This https://i.imgur.com/fYVrf1d.png was a very simple message when theymos explained about giving merits. And these https://i.imgur.com/sqN76q3.png are the translations (I might bring you more in future) we are seeing through out the forum. Quote Why the negative feedback? Flodner is a friend of mine, am I not allowed to send him some merit? :/ Quote He is a trusted friend he asked for some merit and I did. Translation: Award merits to friendsQuote ...mostly i gave my merits to who gave me ? Translation: Award merits who send your meritsQuote Because meriting is not prohibited and everybody are free to distrubute theri1 merits to everyone without any reason etc. Translation: Awarding merit need no reasons so keep awarding. PS: It's a parody post. Merit abusers, please do not use it as a reference ground for your merit abusing activities. Update: New translation 1: Award merit to the bounty managers to show your appreciation/like of the project. 1distributed their Title: Re: What!!! Merit abuse? Or not? Post by: wvizmanos on June 22, 2018, 08:23:59 AM I don't see it as an abuse at all. What I see is pure generosity. Maybe the merit sender just wanted to share his blessings (of merits he received). If he received it the easy way, then I don't see why he would make his standards different when sending.

Can you explain the image number 2? Do you think that it is just only by standard? Please examine the accounts clearly. 6 merits for a post which is just only copied from a link? Not a unique post? Title: Re: What!!! Merit abuse? Or not? Post by: wvizmanos on June 22, 2018, 12:55:08 PM I stand corrected. I saw you point and I think this behavior needs to be corrected. Now let's allow the admins to do what is necessary so this forum stays clean. I will be giving you my smerit for a good job if only I have one.

Report that as plagiarism, and do that next time you come across similar cases.. For plagiarism, there is only one punishment and that is a permanent ban which will hurt those merit farmers way more. Title: Re: What!!! Merit abuse? Or not? Post by: shilpyh on June 22, 2018, 02:09:16 PM This is 100% merit abuse as sender took merit back from the receiver. And it happened not for a single time hence it happened multiple times.
