Also, it's a long term investment. People were treating it as such for many years. Short term price doesn't matter as long as there's a recovery at some point. If we go below the entry point of Japan and Korea, which is somewhere around 4000 USD you can start worrying, but for now it's all fine.

You buy Bitcoin at $400 and the price goes to $800 you earn 100% profit by risking $400 only. I don't think people will buy Bitcoin at $2,000 when it is high risk speculative asset.

you can buy $400 worth of bitcoin and when it goes from X to 2X you make the same 100% profit as ever. X can be $400 or $4000 or $10000. while bitcoin is on the rise you will make the same profit based on how much you invest.

It's all fine and it will be more fine as long as you are holding your bitcoin while the price is in the dip, because bitcoin is long term investment and we need to wait for so long until bitcoin price recover again and reach again a highest price.

It's now lower than $6000. I think tomorrow will continue to decline drastically. This time, we may break through $5000 quickly, do not hold altcoin, it will lose everything.

It will be a tough call, but seeing the markets right now, it seems that it will stay low and stay @ $6k for a few weeks/months. It's another double-bottom formation and the last time we had one, we managed to rebound back to $9700 before drifting back at $7000. It stayed for a a month and a half at the said price range before falling down to where we're at right now, and this marks yet another double-bottom formation which I think kinda resembles the one we had in Feb-Apr pattern. I wish I'm right on what I see but the selling pressure is on a streak lately.

I think it is moving towards 5000$ now, while everyone was really happy by looking at the news that bitcoin is recovering and will go up soon. Some of the speculators were predicting that football world cup will affect crypto market positively but no hope until now. May be people are selling to reduce their loss. Hopefully investors will get more benefit from these ups and downs of the market...

Where? It's 6075 on Bitfinex, which is probably the best indicator. 6160 on Coinbase.
It can be lower if you're trading on a small exchange with low volume and someone overreacts, but such exchanges don't influence the charts, it's the other way round.
How can we believe your predictions if you can't even read the price properly?

We no need to buy X number of bitcoins we can actually buy 0.00X number of of bitcoin according to how much capital amount we have and then we also can make same profits as well so the profits depends on the investment capital not on the number of bitcoins we are buying.

And we can apply the same scenario again buy the bitcoins at $6140 and sell them when it reaches $10K or even more in near future so still it is profitable to invest.

zzzzz...... this is nothing new.  Go back and look at past charts,  This crash still hasn't reached original MT GOX levels yet.  The price right now is concerning for many miners I know.  They are at a point where they are barely breaking even.

Bitcoin is hopefully gonna revert back from this support zone. $5900 got enough buy volume to stop Bitcoin from dipping further. Bears are gonna exhaust at this level. But the fact remains is whether market can turn up to bullish reversal anytime soon. With such a market manipulation and lack of volume, I doubt if institutional investors are ready to put in their money in cryptocurrencies. Market needs volume to show any uptrend in future. With a transition from hodlers to speculators, market is expected to suffer with lack of volume.

Thats also my major concern. Miners are hardly making any profit and on that there are no new miners getting into Bitcoin. Most of the new miners are getting into either Zcash or ETH.

I feel the fluctuations are normal. Indian market got hit yesterday and the price was near to 5600-5700$ which is still there.

If not so I think that is the reason why most of the people in the last two or three days have panicked and sell a huge amount of their possessions. Some say, the bitcoin system has been cracked by a quantum computer by a bunch of hackers, while other said that Satoshi could have been around and create something. While most of the people are afraid of the news, other see it possitively.  If you have seen that the sentiment of the people will about to sell, it is really better to sell ahead of time, why? so that you could buy when the price seems to go up again. It is a trading strategy.

Honestly this was expected and many were wanting this to happen as because as per the technical analysis almost all the experts(so called)i have known they said to have strong comeback of bitcoin we need to hit the low of 6k or even below 6k. Please where did you read that the majority of the people dropping bitcoin presently are the long time holders? Any reliable link source as a proof? This kind of fall in price is not unusual, considering the recent falls. The price will still rise.

Could you please link to the source where it says that 80% of coins are dumped from long term holders? Because it's very contradictory. If an investor is a long term holder, then they would definitely not be panic dumping just because of a bear market.

If you mean "bull market" by dream run, then yes, bitcoin's bull market was long over.

We're currently in a stage of consolidation and overall pessimism in the market. I believe that prices are going to bottom at $4-5k, potentially less. The recovery won't happen any time soon, but I think that it will get under way by next year. Don't panic sell in these circumstances.

At this stage Bitcoin prices $6,144 (as per preev.com), and I believe that we will see a recovery in it in the second half of this year considering the interest of the institutional investors and big whales in the market. This is serious! and if long term holders are dumping now what is the hope of this market to recover? I think many of the people dumping bitcoin now really buy bitcoin around this time last year or around 2015 and 2016. Don't spread FUD. The price may fall below 6k but the investors will not dump their coin for that. They have invested accepting this volatility. They will hold their coins for long enough until the market recovers.

Long term Hodlers are the ones that help keep the market stable.If they are selling now,it spells really bad for prices.I do hope this dip is for a short period,a lot of persons are scared. i am strong believer prices will always recover.

Almost all your recent post here in this forum has been encouraging people to either sell off when this is the perfect time for them to buy more or hold on to their coins for the better days. Most investors brought their coins when the price is as high as $9k-$10k. What then is their gain if they sell low.

Well, I would suggest you to have patience. Hodl the coins for long term investments. Long term investments always prove to be beneficial in the long run.

Bitcoin like a bit steady still goes upstairs and under $ 6000 has not gone right to $ 5900, but I'm pretty sure Bitcoin will not go till under $ 5900.

It's now above 6000$ again.
Anyway there is no room for panic and try not to sell unless you realy need to. Now it's the time for buying so use the chance to buy Bitcoin at convenient price.
I don't think that the price will go much lower but O don't see some biger growth too. In the next month or two the price will stay somwhere around 6000$ to 7500$.

I think that it's likely we'll go down further from this point, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. This is how a bear market usually runs, the prices drop by around 80-85% from the peak, stabilises and consolidates, before making a recovery.

So although I do think that we're in a huge bear market atm and it's not going to subside until next year at least, there is no reason to be concerned. Bitcoin's long term adoption and development shouldn't be affected by this.

There is not so much difference between 6.1k dollar and 5.9k dollar and it can drop more as the price today is 6.1k dollar so it can drop at 5.9k dollar. We were expecting a good increase when the value was around 7.8k dollar but we saw several drops. Now as we are in a low market so it may go high in the upcoming days because people will never miss this opportunity to invest in this favorable situation.

This news is really nightmare for btc users or investors because of price but we should not change this coin now because patience is the key to success based on this price will increase very soon also many predictors telling this price may double but few days ago some incident make their price low.

Yes, definitely dipping again below 6K$ and is predicted by some experts to dip more at around 5K$. For me there's nothing new with this market trend as volatility could be the main cause. If we  can only extend more our patience of hodling after this bearmarket trend. Im sure prices in cryptomarket will bounce back and bitcoin will recover soon with big spikes of increase.

Stop paying attention to what self claimed experts are saying. These experts don't know more than you and me -- their only objective is to market themselves as an expert or guru, while they in reality are nothing. If we had to believe experts back in the days we wouldn't even make it past $1000 ever again, and you take their words for granted? People are riding the market and adjust their predictions based on the fluctuations. It's business as usual nowadays. The main point of importance is that we should keep focusing on the long term, because that's what we are here for. I'm not against short term investors, but their attitude is toxic.

I don't know where you get that news from. 80%? Why would a long term holder suddenly dumps their coins. I mean holders who have been holding bitcoin for more than 2 years will suddenly dumped all of the sudden and want out? I don't think so. They have been holding it for such a long time that it doesn't make sense to just dump it right now because they have lost their faith in the market. It doesn't work that way and I'm sure that long term holders are very intelligent and not be swayed by this kind of FUD and will just pull the trigger and push the sell button.

Long term holder here. I only dump when the price goes above my comfort zone. Then when the price drops I buy. I assume most investors also have target prices for buying back in.

We monitored the market yesterday morning which was about 5.8k dollar and it really surprised me because I am not the part of market but want to proceed for investment therefore the low value is good for me and for many other people who want to invest these days.

So a week later and we're still trying to push past the same $5,900. Looks like a struggle even for willing bears at this volume. I myself still think the lowest low we'll see in the next 5 months is only just below $5,500, so I'm happy to see my "prediction" still some way to go.

I think its likely to first rest at 6100 area even if negative from here.    I think more likely is that it goes up first and confirms the previous pricing as a ceiling, that gives more confidence to the bears to sell or even add shorts to bring it down and gain themselves a profit.   Shorts tends to be very cautious about getting trapped in a rising price so they'll hop onto resistance as a good launch point for negativeity and a failure to rise through it could help their case.

BTC can spike up quite easily so I believe they might wait momemtarily for 6,500 to at least be nearby before opting to take a negative view with borrowed money/btc.   Generally I see this action as negative so long as we remain below that blue line

The most optimistic view I've heard is we are just tracking sideways while we wait to break through 6800, this is the most important place to switch sides and go positive if you see the market mount this price hurdle

The wild swing of the market is a normal trend. Market has its ups and downs due to supply and demand or other considerable factors. It highly-volatile and is seemingly hard to control. But this should not be taken into advantage to cause panic. Market will bounce back anytime soon, we just need to stay patient, positive, and strategic on how to manage risks and deal constant market movement.

It seems that bitcoin is getting lower and lower as time goes by. We are in a terrible situation  nowadays. But many are still watching over it and keep on saying that there is a recovery time for bitcoin. It may last until the last part of the 3rd quarter but I think the long wait is worth it. I may somehow feel upset and frustrated but still, I'd like to take the risk.

Having said that, I was fairly certain it wasn't going to last long.  Anytime prices go insane like that and rise as fast and as high as bitcoin did, people do what they've always done--they cash out and take their profits off the table.  It happens in stocks, bonds, metals, and I suspect everything else you can buy and sell.  And what happens when either a lot of people or a small number of very wealthy people sell all at once?  The price plummets.  I'm just glad bitcoin didn't drop even further than it did.  That should tell you that there are still plenty of people still supporting it, and it'll probably rebound to $20k and then go higher.  The question none of us can answer is when.

Yeah friend, the current price is 6300 dollar for one Bitcoin and not 5900 dollar means that this thread is wrong or it is a prediction that the value would falls at 5900 dollar so this is fine then. Furthermore about the price predictions we can not say anything but I will explain what the expert opinion is right now which is pointing towards price more than 30k dollar in the next 7 months.

Right now mates, those prices mentioned here was now surpassed with the current value of $7300. This was now pumping and had minimal fluctuations, and I've observed more buyer were waiting for those who sell their holdings. The biddings arises so far and hopefully the price will increase as demand goes higher, so we'll be able to reach our expectations for the upcoming bull run.

Yes sure today it crosses more than that, bitcoin price starts to pump many bitcoin holders are now ready to sell but this is not good time. The price will increase more and more in future. Till that you have to wait then the profit will be more than you invest. The market starts to recover hereafter the price will increase.
