Title: ThunderMaps-Coinmap: Recieve alerts when new Bitcoin merchants pop up near you
Post by: pancakes on February 06, 2014, 09:50:59 PM
Coinmap.org is super useful for monitoring Bitcoin's growth but it's kinda tedious having to constantly check it to see what's new... So I wrote a simple script which periodically checks Coinmap for newly added merchants and then sends them to http://www.thundermaps.com.

With ThunderMaps you can set an "alert area" and receive email/push alerts when new things pop up in that area. So you could create an area which covers your city or neighborhood, and then you'd always know when a new business accepts Bitcoin near you.

You can access it here: http://www.thundermaps.com/accounts/coinmap

To make a new alert area you click "listen to an area" and then just drag to set the geofence around the area you want to listen to.

At the moment the map only has merchants added since around a week ago so it's not really meant to be used as reference map like CoinMap is, just as a way of keeping up to date with the latest additions. Suggestions/feedback welcome.
